Renewable energy options for right environment as tried in Sunderbans, 24 Paraganas S in West Bengal

Devipur is a village situated near Sundarbans. Till date there is not connection of electricity and even road connection was inadequate till recent past. Ramakrishna Ashram, Nimpith adopted this village to develop right manner. Most of the people live in this village are of backward class. Fortunately village has one high school and there is good social amity. Ashram thought of dovetailing various schemes available. They could get fund under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana to improve road connectivity. This has indirect impact since market linkage became easy and agriculture production slowly went up. Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources provided fund to establish a generator run with water gas produced from wood chips and home light in every home with solar energy. As scheme introduced I noticed further fund is needed for expansion. I planned it and appealed to corporate houses where my friends are in position to decide. Minex Foundation came forward to provide further fund. The report attached speaks the story. Till now we have more than 70 houses covered with home lights and still growing. Result in the school improved and income of the villagers increased. This is a story of ecofriendly development.
