Lawrence of Arabia, An Example
The story behind Lawrence of Arabia is a decent example of how one country interfering with the laws and politics of another country cause wars and conflicts. Why must one country enforce its beliefs and principals on another country across the sea from them? What business is it of one country how an entirely different country decides to choose its rule? What business is it what gods or goddesses they worship if any at all? Why must one country try to FORCE their ideology on another country? If our ideology was so good, wouldn't they be scrambling to adopt it on their own?
It usually has to do with one of two things... greed or religion. One country wants what the other country has or one country goes on some kind of "Holy War" against another.
When an extremely enlightened individual came along and tried to show them the error of their ways, the end result was most often the torture and death of that individual, especially if people listened to him. In my time there was Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, John Lennon, and others, all who met their death by bullet.
Why is it that people hate so much? Why is it that they prefer war and killing to peace and love? Why is it that they prefer enslavement and control over freedom? Are people so small minded and have such short attention spans that they get easily bored when things are peaceful and calm? Maybe it was all the lead in the pipes and paint chips that caused this problem?
Well, unfortunately, things have been this since time began. People overall seem to have suffered from cranial rectitus* throughout history. If things were going too smoothly, some jerk had to go and start some kind of trouble to make things more "interesting." This happens both in everyday life and in the workplace. It happens between peoples and happens between countries. There always seems to be someone who gets pleasure out of "stirring the pot."
Now, I think we've all been guilty of "stirring the pot" a little from time to time, but some take it WAY too far. Some people do it with evil intent. It seems that some can do nothing good in or with their lives. I'm not sure why that is, but it seems to be a fact of life. When people tell me that everyone has some good in them, I now strongly doubt that. There are some who are pure evil and the only good they appear to have is when they are trying to gain someone's confidence so they can royally screw them over. It is people like these who cause conflict, hatred, injury, and war. They manipulate people into believing their half-baked lies and stir up a mob mentality that seems to spread through the ranks of civilization like wildfire. People with some level of intelligence might get mislead for a while, but they usually figure it out eventually. There are many, though, who either don't seem to possess enough intelligence or enough strength of character to overcome the lies and manipulation. They are blind followers of someone else's ideologies and manipulative spoutings.
Perhaps one day there will be a cure for ignorance. Perhaps one day there will be a pill people can take to give them a spine. Until then, however, I fear that things will continue on much the same as they always have.

Very well put, very well written and thought out.. I am in much if not all hmm say 98% in agreement with all you have written here. Excellent! A few points I will come back to discuss when am not sooo tired. Wanted you know read all,was here and well done.

Cal-el ~ I think I have a good grasp of all you are saying here. Many questions posed are same one's I have(see my profile pg.) I started out as activist nearly 20yrs ago on envirinmental & peace issues. The more I learned the more answers I found...But the great questions of why? What is it in the majority of mankind that has caused wars,killing,racism,so on..I think most of us here see that Greed,Fear & the few with the majority of power...now and threw history is the biggest obstacles to a better world & true peace. We also seem to agree it does start from within! We have to change our own thoughts, emotional baggage, create inner peace..spread understanding caring a loving heart,mind & thoughts.Before we can effect real change in the world. Many of us here & around the world ARE doing just that or in the process of.
In my 20 yrs of activism/advocacy & community organizer I have learned more than I think I ever really wanted to know..but better to than be a sheep,minlessly following along with whatever spoon fed crap we are told!! I've spent many years teaching others the Truths of what Governments,big corporations were/are doing to continue the cycles of wars,poverty,environmental destruction & control. At this point in my life I see all that is being manipulated and know that real change is occuring around the world,slowly,gradually people are waking up and saying NO MORE! We want a better world for All people & our planet,yes we may be the minority be we are becoming the majority, Forums like ipeace,internet communication,ability to talk to,learn & teach about our lives,loves,experiences joining in solidarity all across the world-OUR voices are becoming louder,stronger united for Peace,Love, becoming the change we need. Things often look bleak & dark..as long as we keep Love in our heart,reaching out to each other with understanding, honest caring dialog,positive thought,sharing ideas & Not being the sheep..we CAN become a better race,one race,one world united for Peace! No more bounderies of states,nations,countries...but one world. Maybe we are on this path now? Maybe the" powers that be" are realizing this, doing/causing more division wherever & however they can, it is up to all of us to make sure we resist and learn/teach We are being LIED to! Perhaps the ppl. not intelligent enough nor want to believe this will also look around and realize that being a sheep,following along is causing them harm,so again is up to the more enlightened/educated to gently guide them to wake up and see what is really happening in the world. Fact is many don't want to know, is to disturbing,difficult and are to set in their ways, hate out of fear ,hate as tought to,discriminate others religions,nationality,sexual preferences....turning away from theese things is not an easy thing to do..it is possible, I have to believe that. More people Are in fact doing just that-turning away from greed,hate & fear....we are an ever evolving race. Humans are filled with the capacity to learn,evolve change...The questions still remain-will we ever evolve beyond greed,racism,religious discrimination & intollerence,fear,hate ? I don't know? but I choose to believe we will..that we ARE on this path /journey now. -
