Why has China occupied Tibet? I red in the papers shortly, that China wants to use the Tibetanian paople as resource for spiritual thinking and education, because the economic strive in China is making the people empty inside. What a motivation to occupy another country.
In my opinion it is a place over the Hymalaya seen from China, from where it can invade the countries in South-Asia. China is not so friendly minded.
Therefore it is important for the whole world, that Tibet is free again and China back behind his earlier frontiers, back behind the Hymalaya.
If someone else has a different opinion I like to hear it.

What a wonderful, wonderful man! I've had the good fortune to meet him twice. I think the first meeting itself changed me from the inside in some way I can't quite define...

South Africa has denied the Dalai Lama a visa to attend a peace conference linked to the 2010 Football World Cup. Archbishop Desmond Tutu has pulled out of the meeting in protest and branded the decision "disgraceful". I cannot agree more with the Archbishop. As a South African myself - I am ashamed. South African got so much solidarity from the world in the anti-apartheid struggle and has caved in to Chinese pressure for economic reasons.

In October 1998, The Dalai Lama's administration acknowledged that it received $1.7 million a year in the 1960s from the U.S. Government through the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and also trained a resistance movement in Colorado (USA).[38] When asked by CIA officer John Kenneth Knaus in 1995 whether the organization did a good or bad thing in providing its support, the Dalai Lama replied that though it helped the morale of those resisting the Chinese, "thousands of lives were lost in the resistance" and further, that "the U.S. Government had involved itself in his country's affairs not to help Tibet but only as a Cold War tactic to challenge the Chinese."[83] from Wikipedia,en
