International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

Poverty is not just a matter of subsistence. Poverty encompasses the absence of opportunity to partake of the very things we take for granted: food, housing, education, training, work opportunities, and most severely, it denies the right to a fruitful life. Poverty drives individuals to extremes just so as to survive.Others lose hope, faith and will.

Despair drives parents to sell children, teenagers sell their bodies for a pittance and societies crumble incrementally under the pressure of living on nothing.

Values and norms lose meaning as the fight to live through hunger and a spot in a drain pipe for sleep out of the rain, fighting over that extra sniff of glue are all that some children learn about being disposable and invisible to the greater world

And what do we lose in the process? Human potential. We lose a child’s discovery of their own mind, a child who through play and exploration would otherwise uncover the wealth of their own talent and what they could possibly contribute to the world

As you brush off a child who begs to wash your car windows as you wait for a red light, or a kid asks to take your shopping trolley, don’t just imagine it being your own child, but see the scientist, the musician, the economist, the community leader, the teacher, whose potential dies in your looking the other way……

The choice is yours… and yours…and yours And mine! We can make poverty history if we want it to be.

There is this idea that poverty is something that born and bred in developing nations: media and commerce have created the illusion of a great divide… and it is often relegated to a developmental one.

Truth is Poverty is spawned in your own home. It starts in the mind. It grows roots in the soil of apathy and it spreads like a cancer among the backstreets of everything you and I pretend not to see. It flourishes among the garbage bags of everything we take for granted: running water, a bed, warmth, family, holidays, birthday wishes, even a simple smile which lets you know someone has SEEN you, acknowledge your existence…

Poverty is not just a matter of money. Poverty is what comes from living beyond the realm of those in need of a helping hand.

Give, so a girl can development her self confidence and become self-reliant.

Give, so a young man need not prostitute himself to foreign holiday makers,

Give, so that a man need not traffic his child for 50dollars.

Give a Damn… it goes farther than just a Dime …. And BE the difference in their lives and your own.

Poverty like illness knows no boundaries. Wealth does not protect one from it and poverty itself does not make you immune to its impact.

With the current tumbling of the world’s financial markets, the loss of billions around the world offers all of us an opportune moment of reflection. The first Wall Street Crash sent the world into an economic nightmare. These days governments rally together at the speed of light in a financial rescue mission….

And it still does not change one aspect of the status quo…

Those stuck in poverty remain stuck in the mud or rambling knee deep in disease infected refuse landfills, which is home to seagulls and homeless children: it feeds a pittance to some anonymous stricken family in the back streets of Bogota, children scramble bottles together for enough small change to kill the cold off their skin for a night.

Walk around your own city without stepping over some homeless anonymous entity and ask yourself how difficult is it to care…

Poverty Day: Take part! Care enough so there does not have to be one next year!

Create opportunities for Trade rather than Aid.

It's in our hands and hearts... if we choose to have a mind to.....

situation needs to be addressed, because a hungry person is not a free person. But we must, first, to know the causes that lead to hunger. Many believe that the know, but do not realize that when they speak of them, are limited, often to repeat what many have said and pointing causes that have nothing to do with the real problem. For example:
Hunger is caused because the world can not produce enough food. Not true! The earth has enough resources to feed the whole humanity.

Hunger is due to the fact that we are "other." Nor is it true! There are very populous countries such as China, where all people have, every day, at least a minimum amount of food and very little populated countries such as Bolivia, where the poor really suffer from hunger!

In the world there is little arable land! It is not true. For now, there is sufficient land which, unfortunately, are grown, often to feed the rich!

The real causes

The causes of hunger in the world are many, can not be reduced to one. Among those listed:

The monocultures: the gross national product (GDP) of many countries depends, in many cases, only a culture, as some years ago, with Brazil, whose sole product was the export of coffee. Without alternative production, the economy of these countries largely depends on the price of the product, which is fixed in other places, and climatic conditions to ensure a good harvest.

Different conditions of exchange between different countries: some countries, former colonies, are needing more and more manufactured goods and high technology, they do not produce and whose price is set by exporting countries. The prices of raw materials, almost always the only product of exports of poor countries, are set again, the countries that matter.

Multinationals: organizations are able to perform operations that are global, thus escaping the control of national states or international organizations. They constitute a network of supranational power. They want to conquer markets, private equity investing and shifting production to where the cost of labor, energy and raw material are lower and workers' rights, limited. They control 40% of world trade and 90% of world trade of goods of primary necessity.

External debt: as the Organization for Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the debt is paralyzing the ability of LDCs to import the food they need to own or to the need to develop agricultural production. The debt is contracted with private banks and international institutions such as the Monetary Fund and World Bank. To pay the interest, attempts to increase exports. In some countries, 40% of which raises with exports are spent only to pay the interest on foreign debt. The debt, unfortunately, remains unchanged or increases.

Armed conflict: the money to provide food, water, education, health and an adequate housing for all, for a year, as is the entire world spends on less than a month in the purchase of weapons. Moreover, the armed conflicts in many developing countries cause serious losses and destruction in their primary production system.

Hunger in the camps, in large plantations.
The people do not know which is the reason people do not have bread
The government has major projects
But the hunger? That does not stop, not
The belly snoring
Moments of total prostration of loneliness
Of concentration camps, the fields of application.
How to plant a flower in the midst of so much desolation?
Children crying from hunger, empty pots, empty bellies
life without direction ...
Look like the stars, is what I feel is only sadness?
"God has not given us a spirit of cowardice
But of power, of love and moderation
Because so much failure?
"In truth I tell you that, when did
to one of my little brothers, the did to me. " (Matthew 25:40)

"I was hungry and me to eat this," said Jesus incarnated the figure of the poor. Fighting hunger is a requirement for an ethical imperative a duty of citizenship and solidarity, so that we can take the humanity of pre-history in which billions of people still do not have the right animal most basic - eat .* Frei Betto

Boy ... CliciaPavan

Boy who loose balloon, boy
who plays with pivot
boy who is not "bread"
Boy who has no ground
poor boy, you are a Christian

Boy who has a heart,
boy who does not know pray.
To look empty, empty of belly
Children without stars to gaze
with criminals as heroes.

God enlighten the paths
Of Joe, of Joãos of Marias
Of Anthony, the Anonymous
Children of the abandonment of boys

God enlighten the path
the boy who loose balloon
who plays with pivot, who has no bread
But he has a heart
But he is a Christian
they are our brothers
The future of the world

À fome nos campos,em grandes plantações.
O povo não sabe qual a é razão do povo não ter pão.
O governo tem grandes projetos.................
Mas a fome?Essa não acaba, não
A barriga roncando
(Mateus 25:40)

"Eu tive fome e me deste de comer", disse Jesus encarnado na figura do pobre. Combater a fome é uma exigência um imperativo ético, um dever de cidadania e solidariedade, para que possamos tirar a humanidade dessa pré-história em que bilhões de pessoas ainda não têm assegurado o direito animal mais elementar - comer.* Frei Betto

Greetings from the creators "Abrelatas Cuántico"

http://www.ipeace.me/group/abrelatascuantico

For our friends with whom we share this quest ...

http://abrelatascuantico.wordpress.com/about/

The most loving hugs from our love-light.

Every time you are seeing some of the things we've put into this blog, there will be joining their hearts. We welcome the meeting here.

We have opened a new page that contains "Quantum Messages." Angel began with Kryon. This video is beautiful. "Beautiful as an angel." We recommend.

And finishing the home page "Cuánticas Meditations" and started working on a page in their history before 6 thousand years.

Everything you find this blog, have picture, sound and message. This helps each of us consciously work on understanding of who we are and expand our consciousness and make that leap. And here we are living now, we are remembering that it is an opportunity to achieve what is expected for thousands of years.

We feel it is a cosmic event and we dance. So our friends, we celebrate.

A warm-LOVE LIGHT
Gabriela and Catherine

I don't have much financially to share with the less fortunate. Professionally I do work with the poor, the abused, the mentally ill, those who are addicted. Most of all I try to treat everyone as equals. We are all people, to be treated with respect, dignity and love. I also try to impart this on to my own daughter and to educate as many people to the truth I see every day around me and the realities of what is occurring internationally.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for having this place to come together. =)
