iPeace prides itself on being a free space for sharing ideas, opinions and information.

But we have and uphold certain standards. We will not allow posting of explicit horror images of war. We don't need to see it to realize that war is horrific.

We understand also that emotions in these days are running high. But we will not tolerate personal attacks between members.

We ask you to help us in keeping the iPeace space civilized and report to one of the admins any violation.

Praying for more peaceful days

Every war is tragic, a shame!!!
I'm sorry, Haya.

Wise words:

pueda quedar abierta,
la puerta de la compasión.

Call Me By My True Names
by Thich Nhat Hanh

Please call me by my true names
Don't say that I will depart tomorrow--even today I am still arriving.

Look deeply: every second I am arriving to be a bud on a Spring branch, to be a tiny bird, with still-fragile wings, learning to sing in my new nest, to be a caterpillar in the heart of a flower, to be a jewel hiding itself in a stone.

I still arrive, in order to laugh and to cry, to fear and to hope. The rhythm of my heart is the birth and death of all that is alive.

I am a mayfly metamorphosing on the surface of the river. And I am the bird that swoops down to swallow the mayfly.

I am a frog swimming happily in the clear water of a pond. And I am the grass-snake that silently feeds itself on the frog.

I am the child in Uganda, all skin and bones, my legs as thin as bamboo sticks. And I am the arms merchant, selling deadly weapons to Uganda.

I am the twelve-year-old girl, refugee on a small boat, who throws herself into the ocean after being raped by a sea pirate. And I am the pirate, my heart not yet capable of seeing and loving.

I am a member of the politburo, with plenty of power in my hands. And I am the man who has to pay his "debt of blood" to my people dying slowly in a forced-labor camp.

My joy is like Spring, so warm it makes flowers bloom all over the Earth. My pain is like a river of tears, so vast it fills the four oceans.

Please call me by my true names, so I can hear all my cries and laughter at once, so I can see that my joy and pain are one.

Please call me by my true names, so I can wake up and the door of my heart could be left open, the door of compassion.

Yet another year of pointless bloodshed and death. The innocent peace-loving people continue to suffer the most, whilst those with any power have continued their war-mongering for thier own hollow and evil political gain. God sees everything and it's very difficult to understand why he wills this to happen, other than to test all of us so that we try to do what's right for humanity. I hope and pray that God gives us all the strength, courage and conviction to follow what we believe is right in our hearts so that one day, God-willing, there will be peace and joy in the holy land for all human beings. Nobody owns the Holy land; everything belongs to God and we all return to him. Many of us, including me, believe in the second coming of the Messiah and pehaps this is what it will take for their to be peace on Earth once again. If you believe in God and the many holy scriptures, this is what has happened many times in the past. However, the major difference this time is that this may well be the last time that God sends someone to us.

PEOPLE IN THE EU WRITE TO YOUR MEP: there is currently a document being drawn up which spells out the details of the relationship between Israel and the EU for the following year. We should insist that human rights are put highest on the agenda, and that Israel starts to follow it's UN obligations. The more pressure that we put on the European Parliament the better. Write to all representatives.

Im also not understanding whats going on and I agree with Des about innocent people being masacred and it is time that we join and do something about it.

Des, no wonder you cannot understand -It is a very complicated story...but any way you look at it - this war is a bad, miserable, tragic one. The two people are suffering, every side has/had its own turn to be the more badly wounded, now it is the Gaza people. And all of us - the sane ones- understand that this must be stopped!!! Immediately!!!!! Any minute is a wasted one!!!!!.

I am still trying to get the facts so that I can understand what is going on. What I see is innocent people being massacred - I believe the rest of the world sees this too.

Neli, ( a couple of posts down) I am happy for Haya, a proud Palestinian in Nablus..who seems to understand what Peace is about. You can definitely learn from something from her.
