SANGITA CHAUDHURI'S PAINTINGS

Hi friends...., I am SANGITA. I was born in CALCUTTA(at present it is KOLKATA) in INDIA in 1978.I obtained the Degree of Master of Visual Art(M V A) from University of Calcutta. I had to pass so many years in Calcutta and its adjacent areas with my parents. Due to transferable job of my father I had to live in different places of West Bengal with them. Drawing and Painting was my propensity from my childhood. From the age of sixteen I had to perform daily journey by local train for higher education to the heart of the town Calcutta.The style ,culture, livelihood etc. of the person both male and female and also about the ins and out of the locality reflected in my art work which may be considered as extract of lives of common people , though I did not like the crowdy local train at all.,yet I had to perform the journey for several years in same way and the scene in the compartment and beside the train line inspired me to do something on the live -scenes of the locality and its environment.And as such the struggle for existence ( 3rd World Country) inspired me to draw pictures. Even now when I take some rest in vacant or in pensive mood the common scenes of my birth places and adjacent locality flash upon my in ward -eye for the time being. All these are the inspirations of my present artistic life. Gradually I feel in love unknowingly with the uneasy environment even in those tiresome journey.
