Brotherhood Prayer
I would like to share with everyone a pray that was written by the founder of my synagogue. My Rabbi and his family manage to escape Germany just as the Nazi were beginning to start to round up the Jews and he was still able to develop an attitude that has become the foundation of our synagogue. He passed away about 4 years ago but his memory lives on in this prayer and the openness attitude he instilled in the members of the congregation. The prayer is called the "Brotherhood Prayer".
My heavenly Father, I come to you in prayer with deep rejoicing and thanksgiving for your goodness to me. My heart is filled to overflowing with gratefulness as I think of the gift of your love, infinite, unchanging, eternal-infolding me, forgiving me, drawing me ever closer to you. Father, I would open my heart even wider so that your love may flow through me to bless all whose lives I touch. There is a spirit in all man, not in one particular, not in one special group of man, but in all man. I realize that no one is set apart, everyone is special and important to God, our Father. It is in this feeling of brotherhood that man finds inspiration. May your love and guidance lead my future. Amen
