When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Human Rights, Our Shrinking Freedom, Other

So what is it?: Truly there is a complex web of interwoven problems, so completely related to each other that it is not all that helpful to discriminate too finely between each. They are different manifestations of one and the same thing : disconnectedness, short sight - call it ignorance.

What must we overcome to achieve peace?: Other

More: I believe that the biggest obstacle is the lack of time most people find to even think about the fact that there may be a wider, equally important problem, outside of their own immediate and legitimate preoccupations, hence lack of attention and care. I believe however that this is a manifestation of blindness, and lack of imagination, more than anything else. Not a *real* obstacle, but rather a lack of 'awareness', or 'education' (in a large sense, I don't mean just academia). Fear, hatred, greed , prejudice and so forth are 'extras', but they are not as solid as they may seem, and can all be work through, slowly.

Je vis en France, à Paris, et je m'intéresse d'assez près à tout ce qui touche à "l'écologie" (au sens large, voire spirituel), notamment au débat entre développement durable et décroissance, ainsi qu'à la solidarité internationale et locale, au supposé "développement" ...et aux mouvements qui font la promotion d'une culture de paix et de non-violence. Je m'intéresse plus précisément aux notions de "responsabili-té/sation", de "citoyenneté (mondiale)" en lien avec ces préoccupations et enjeux, à "l'éduca-tion/bilité" des gens à ces sujets, et à la participation, la mise en débat, la "réappropriation citoyenne" de ces choix...

L'année qui vient, j'espère surtout rencontrer un grand nombre "d'acteurs" divers dans ces domaines variés mais convergents, et de sonder le potentiel pour une plus grande mutualisation, d'encourager les réseaux d'échanges - de "simple" parole, de savoirs et savoirs-faire (et savoir-être)... - et une meilleure prise en compte concrète de l'interdépendance de tous les grands enjeux de société, dans toute leur complexité.

Je me suis pas mal rapproché de la Coordination française pour la Décennie, et dont j'ai rejoint cette année la "commission éducation". Mais je me balade beaucoup d'un réseau à un autre pour essayer de ma faire une sorte de vision d'ensemble de tout ce qui se fait - et je suis justement frappé par le nombre de choses qui se font et l'ignorance que la plupart des gens (y compris militants) en ont, hors d'un cercle plus ou moins restreint...!
