Historically, those who are most fearful have used extreme violence to amass great wealth and power, thinking it will "protect" them. Saturated with fear and greed, we use both wealth and power tyrannically. Presently, I believe that we are aware of a significant shift in consciousness. We need only look in the mirror to see the purveyors of terror. Here in the USA, our cities have vast areas where people live in extreme poverty/extreme wealth and extreme fear of their neighbors. Every year, more Americans kill each other than are killed by terrorists. Unfortunately we are exporting our violence...for profit. If we want peace, we must start with ourselves. We are a fearful, violent people, who's national wealth is tied to developing, manufacturing and exporting weapons, war, violence, prejudice and fear. From liberals to conservatives...look in your portfolios. What is your money doing? It is impossible to support peace while profiting from war. It is impossible to end poverty while profiting from misery. It is impossible to save the planet while profiting from it's destruction. It is impossible to be peaceful and loving while holding on to fear and validating it's violence.
Can we change the world?
Definitely
More about me
I am an American.
My roots in this country are in the people exterminated by the conquistadors and Custer, enslaved and raped on plantations in Virginia. If I can find it in me to calm the fear of my genetically puny "master", embrace the profound wisdom of my "Indian" and realize the dream of my African slave...I will feel worthy of being a woman of this world.
