I think that too many people have learned to let fear and greed dictate their choices. This is reflected in every level of human life from government to personal relationships. Fear of anything that requires one to grow or change is often the impetus behind every greedy, ugly, selfish plan created only for the benefit of the person who makes the plan. Greed spawned by a sense of entitlement for everything available from commodities to love is often behind many choices people make which, in the end, do nothing but cut them off from others, stop them from thinking about helping others, and ultimately only engender hatred for all that is different than themselves.

Can we change the world?

I have worked in social services for over 15 years. I have seen much pain and sadness out there, but also a great deal of joy and amazing human strengths, even in the face of huge personal tragedy. In my own life, I've experienced equal doses of these things and still believe in the power of love, truth and understanding as a means to bring us together.
