When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?
I am a born activist
What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?
War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Inflation, Human Rights
So what is it?
lack of Compassion for Our Home this World and its people
What must we overcome to achieve peace?
Greed
More
too many people - individuals + corporates have become rich on the profits of war and do not want Peace ... Peace to them means loss of their customers = loss of profits ...
Can we change the world?
Definitely
More about me
I have "walked the walk" as well as "talking the talk" ... for nearly 20 years my life was devoted to helping refugees in the Horn of Africa countries, Somalia in particular.
For 3 years I travelled back and forth to Somalia (my youngest daughter came with me on many of these trips), my last trip to Somalia was in 1995, looks like that was not only my last but also my final trip. During September,1995 I was part of a group of international aid workers and journalists who were held hostage when the area we were working in was invaded.
That experience confirmed my belief/realisation that I am Buddhist in my beliefs, and here in Australia I have worked as a volunteer every time His Holiness the Dalai Lama visits - he practices what he preaches "my religion is kindness" HHDL
