When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I'm just a peaceful person

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: Other

So what is it?: lack of consciousness leads to all the burning issues.

What must we overcome to achieve peace?: Fear

More: fear reveals itself thru the human ego. in turn the ego diminishes the wisdom of the heart. people betray themselves & others in all kinds of ways..the world just reflects what is incongruent between all of us on a personal level to a global level . i would encourage everyone to embrace self acceptance & self love & then the peace within will spread. our culture is not self reflective. This is dangerous because then the cultural behaviors are almost intentional in avoiding the process of understanding deeper issues. Awareness can reveal valuable lessons on how to live a better way. americans are still not clear about the how to reconcile the relationship with native indigenous people, even worse most people probably don't even see the value in healing wounds of the past. Ignorant of how these aspects of our collective history haunt us & keep us bound to old patterns of destruction. Our lack of respect for nature is also an obstacle. Humans would generally prefer to overpower nature opposed to living in balance with it...the ultimate in arrogance, which mythology tells us is ultimately the self destruction of humans...ego is everywhere bad things happen. The illusion of power creates bad leadership, bad choices, bad consequences. True wisdom however is not so sexy or easy to sell.
First & foremost we all gotta wake up & stay awake...native people can show us how to do this. But they don't have the influence & prestige, they are not provocative and don't have ego. Ego is drawn to ego. Hence the viscous cycle of whatever the opposite of peace is.

Can we change the world?: Definitely

More about me: I see the world thru a filter of relationships. It enables me to have insight about what is stirring emotionally in others. I also see the ways people are limited in their ability to communicate what is true for themselves in order to have healthy relationships. So I help others to get clear, to find the words & attempt to end the isolation of not being understood. I have gotten lots of experience watching & empathizing with my loving yet dysfunctional family, my host of friends & my precious children. Now I try to bring my heart into my business relationships as freely as i do to my friendships. I make myself available to anyone i encounter who is experiencing transitions in life, those people who are beginning to become self reflective. people appreciate being acknowledged by someone who listens & sees with an open & strong heart.
