Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan launches Lipsy range

But the 27-year-old’s taste and style have taken quite a different turn as she launches her debut fashion collection in collaboration with High Street and online brand Lipsy London, which is owned by Next Plc.

The Love Michelle Keegan 30-piece range goes on sale in stores nationwide and online tomorrow, and Michelle says that seeing her own label and designs is a dream come true.

“I have been wearing Lipsy since my teens,” she said. “I have always admired their collections over the years, their pieces are always bang on-trend, are made with good quality materials, and I always feel great when I wear Lipsy.”

Describing the range as “classic, unfussy and feminine in style”, Michelle adds: “I have spent a lot of time over the last few months working closely with the Lipsy design team to make sure that each piece in my collection is something I am excited about wearing.”

The five times winner of the British Soap Awards’ Sexiest Female accolade is engaged to TV presenter Mark Wright, who climbed to fame in reality show The Only Way is Essex. While it’s true that her new Lipsy London range will appeal to her main fan-base of teenage and young 20-something fashion lovers in search of flattering, striking clothes to impress at parties and clubs, there is rather more to this collection and, like the broader Lipsy range itself, there are pieces that suit all ages, and ones that could be adapted to suit a variety of shapes and tastes.

Founded in 1988, Lipsy now operates 70 stores world-wide, as well as its online arm. It started as a retailer of fashion-conscious, reasonably priced party dresses but has expanded to include a full lifestyle fashion range, including casual separates, outerwear and accessories, all with a distinctive young, street-glamour edge.

The Love Michelle Keegan collection for autumn combines nude tones with flashes of berry, ultramarine,navy and black, and there are also monochrome looks which add an elegant note to fitted shapes. The dresses tend to the sleek and body-conscious with carefully placed panelling to draw the eye to the centre of the torso, using neoprene fabrics as a nod to the sports luxe trend. There is a tuxedo jacket and tapered trousers, plus lace and pussy-bow necklines and impressive outerwear.

There are Lipsy stores at the White Rose Centre, Leeds, and Meadowhall Shopping Centre, Sheffield. Lipsy is also at House of Fraser in Leeds.
