Crashing Waves - A Humbling Experience

adidas stan smith Throughout life, we can get big heads and turn brimming with ourselves. Through success, comes confidence and confidence breeds better results. However, we have a thin line between confidence and arrogance. Live confidently, have a controlled ego and have confidence in yourself, but never allow arrogance take you over. I have had my moments of extreme bravado and arrogance. Though I might not have shown it, inside I felt it. On the recent visit to the ocean, I was reminded again about a few of the awesome power on the planet and just how much little power we, as humans, truly possess.

After a stop by at San Diego, a spot I adore, a vacation to the ocean was inevitable. Though I'm not really a superb swimmer, I really like getting in the stream. It's a fun and soothing experience to possess. As I experienced the ocean, the waves were quite strong about this day. Surfers were getting the time of these lives. Waiting in the river, even some of the weakest waves would crash into me and knock me back about 20-30 feet. What a humbling experience. Although waves were strong, they still paled in comparison with many of the forces available on the globe. Knowing this was a more humbling experience.

I think that having one of these knowledge is a superb method to keep our egos at bay and keep us into earth. Being humbled isn't the greatest feeling to experience, but it sure does remind us that people are human. I say this to not promote living a lifetime of fear. I really believe that's a terrible way to live. However, always are aware that you'll find issues you cannot control and life can knock us down at any time. To get the very best at everything you do, you might want some type of ego, but don't allow it get free from hand.

However, never let your head to swell. When that humbling moment in your life comes, it will eventually knock you down, the same as those crashing waves did to me from the ocean.
