Foster Grant Head Adds Another Title

Arthur T. Castillo, the 52-year-old president of the Foster Grant Corporation, the sunglass producer, has been named to the additional position of chief executive officer. Ruebcke, 60, who continues as chairman of the Leominster, Mass., company.

''The sunglass market is not as strong as we would like to see and has been rather flat in the past few years,'' Mr 2015 Wholesale Sunglasses. Castillo said in a telephone interview. ''There has been no new material developments or fashion impetus.''

Early in his career, Mr. Castillo worked for the Colgate-Palmolive Company and the SSC and Ted Bates advertising agencies Cheap Sunglasses,Discount Sunglasses,Designer Inspired Sunglasses. He later moved into the cosmetics industy, first with Revlon Inc., then with Gulf and Western Industries and finally with a joint venture that he formed with General Mills Inc. Mr. Castillo became associated with the worldwide Hoechst group of companies, whose headquarters are in West Germany, in 1976 when he joined its Parfums Rochas subsidiary and a year ago yesterday came to Foster Grant, another Hoechst unit, as president and chief operating officer Ray Ban Sunglass Brand Wholesale.

Mr. Ruebcke worked for Bayer of West Germany in England for 11 years before switching to the Hoechst United Kingdom subsidiary in 1965 as chairman and managing director. He was transferred to the United States the following year as executive vice president of Hoechst Fibers, becoming its president and chief executive officer four year later. Since 1975, he has been executive vice president of the American Hoechst Corporation.

Mr. Castillo observed that Foster Grant was diversifying into other activities, such as eye guards and eyeglass accessories. Another new product for the company, he said, is magnifiers - eyeglasses that are sold without a physician's prescription in all but four states. New York is one of the states where such products are not permitted to be sold. ''This is a very large potential market because it is a reasonable price alternative to the high prices of optical products,'' Mr. Castillo asserted.
