Spring has finally come with its beauty and fragrance.
It is Easter day, a time to remember the efforts Jesus Christ made to unite people and bring Peace.
It is only right that we follow His example and do our best to make people around us happy and bring peace and understanding among people of different skin colours, beliefs, religions, from different parts of the world.
In order to teach my pupils that there are no major differences between them and children from other parts of Romania or other countries in this beautiful world, I started in 2007 an art project in school, called "Children - our future". This project is a follow up of our Comenius school project "Junior inventors", and it comprises 3 art exhibitions for children: "The Light of Resurrection", to celebrate Easter, "At school and in life, always togetrher", to celebrate the International day of the Rroma people, as we have Rroma children attending our school and we want to make them feel appreciated and proud of their history and culture, and "Children - our future", to chelebrate the 1st of June, the International Children's day, according to UNESCO. This year these intercultural art exhibitions have seen their 4th edition.
So, as Easter and the 8th of April are in the period when our pupils have their Easter holidays, we opened the first two art exhibitions on Thursday, April 1. It was not a joke on Aprils Fool's Day, but it was a very seroius and lovely occasion to have our pupils celebrate together as friends. I will try to make a photo album for you to see our exhibitions.
If you happen to be in Baia Mare in the next period, I invite you to visit us.
Meanwhile, you can see some more information about our project on the blog I made for it: http://juniorarts.blogspot.com
If there are people interested in participating in our art exhibitions, please let me know and I will send you more details.
Have a lovely and peaceful Easter and spring!
