Excessive emotion is like the ocean spray in that it can be corrosive to our best intentions. A dose of rationality is always welcome when emotions surge like a strong tide. When we assume a rational attitude, we need to stop and ponder the facts with precision and calm, allowing a real understanding to take place. A rational mind can create clarity of thought that can part the mists of confusing emotions like a fresh breeze.
