The balusters will need to be cut to length using a straight cut and installed with the baluster plugs as shown in figure . Important C if your stair rail angle is other than 32 degrees, you will need to cut balusters to the stair angle and use the internal plug. Determine the angle of your stairs based on the rise and run of the stringers and cut using a miter saw. Attach the baluster stair plugs to the bottom rail using #10 x 2” SS pan head screws through the pre-drilled holes. Note: Make sure post base trim isinstalled prior to installing the bottom rail.composite wood on concrete stairPlace the rail trim and stair brackets on the ends of the bottom rail. Drill 5/16”hole through the bracket and rail for the entire 1/4”bracket pin bolt to be placed through the rail, apply nut on the end.

This is to be only hand tight (do both sides of the rail). Prop the bottom rail between the posts on the stair treads. If the angle is more than 32 degrees, (see note below for using adjustable baluster plug) you will have to file out the trim to the scribe marks on the inside, using a standard wood file. Check your local building codes. You may need to place equal shims between two stair tread noses to elevate the bottom rail.Typically a 6”sphere may not be allowed to pass the post. Using the stair bracket as a guide, mark the screw positions on both ends. Pre-drill 3/16”pilot holes through the post cover, NOT the wood post. Attach the stair brackets with #10 x 2-1/2” SS flat head screws provided. Place a baluster over each baluster plug on the bottom rail. Make sure baluster is fully seated in baluster plug. Gently tap with a rubber mallet if needed. wood plastic pallets underlaymentIf you are not using a 32 degree baluster plug, you will need to cut the baluster to the angle of your stair top and bottom. Attach baluster plugs to the top rail using #10 x 2” SS pan head screws through the pre-drilled holes. Place the rail trim and stair brackets on the ends of the top rail before installing the rail to the post cover. Drill 5/16”hole through the bracket and rail for the entire 1/4”bracket pin bolt to be placed through the rail, apply nut on the end.

This is to be only hand tight (do both sides of the rail). Place the top rail into position, sliding the balusters onto the baluster plugs, while working from end to end. Center the stair bracket on the post. Position top rail over installed baluster and place each baluster into the corresponding plug. Using the stair bracket as a guide, mark the screw locations on both ends. custom wood plastic composite wallPre-drill 3/16”pilot holes through the post sleeve only and attach the stair brackets with #10 x 2”SS flat head screws. Apply PVC adhesive (not included) to the inside of the rail trim, where it will contact the stair bracket, and snap into place. Apply PVC adhesive (not included) to the inside rim of the post cap and place firmly on the post. Repeat for each post. This will help insure that the cover remains positioned properly over time.
