Looking to the heavens for inspiration

There’s eye-catching and there’s eye-catching. And then there’s this, the absolutely neck-breaking Nike Air Max 1 Liquid Gold, Nike Air Max 90 Herren releasing this weekend at select retailers but, unfortunately, limited to women’s sizing.
Effectively an homage to gold, the shoe sports an ultra-metallic gold upper with “AU” on the tongue, the element symbol for gold. A contrast white midsole sits beneath, while a premium perf Nike Air Max 90 Damenleather sockliner adds luxe comfort and style.Looking to the heavens for inspiration, Nike Sportswear’s latest must-have set is the Nike Space Pack, releasing this weekend at stateside NSW accounts.
The pack consists of a specially-styled Air Force 1 Downtown and Lunar Force 1, each shoe Nike Air Max 1 Womens sporting white and grey, a nod to the favored colors of astronauts. The AF1 Downtown incorporates a tumbled leather upper with removable Velcro iridescent Swoosh and speckled icy outsole, while the LF1 mixes a Hyperfuse upper with translucent Swoosh and an equally icy sole. Nike Air Max 90 Womens Hyperfuse Both shoes also don space-inspired logos.The Swoosh’s most iconic running shoe is the latest to don the jacquard makeover, in the form of the Nike Air Max 1 JCRD.
At this point it seems that all of Nike’s classic runners will get the jacquard treatment in 2014, with the AM1Nike Air Max Thea Dames joining the already-previewed Air Max 95 JCRD and Air Max 90 JCRD.
Think of it as a more fashion-oriented Flyknit, with the classic raised jacquard weaving method used for the entire upper, wherein different textures are mixed in where you’d traditionally find seams, ensuring the overall paneling looks like your classic AM1; just woven.Nike Skateboarding continues a hot streak of must-have Dunk after must-have Dunk today, with the Nike SB Dunk Mid Black/Cherrywood. It’s technically slated for a November drop, I believe, though it seems to be rolling into Nike Air Max 1 Heren retailers already.
The shoe opts for an all-black upper — ostrich-style dimpled leather overlays, nubuck on the side and toe, and textile around the collar — contrasted by burgundy Swoosh and inner-lining, and gold script. Finally, a grey midsole finishes off the look.Call it a Nike Air Max 1 Damen sample at the moment, but I have it on pretty good authority that, indeed, the Nike Air Force 1 High Supreme Bakin releases as part of the Spring 2014 collection, and it’s really something special.
The shoe sports the general paneling and silhouette of the AF1, but adds in a few sartorial updates, most notably a sort of overlaid “cutout” blue leather layer that still reveals the usual Swoosh and side-panel-seams but does so in negative space.
White leather meanwhile wraps the collar and tongue, with a heel-logo borrowed from the classic Air Bakin hoops shoe that UGG Boots Deals lends this AF1 its nickname. Beneath, a translucent midsole features a visible Air-Sole in the heel, furthering the “premium” look of the shoe.
