These elements are placed on one side of the carriage, in linear alignment with its rotational axis. Finally, the tourbillon carriage is not integrated into the movement, yet positioned “above” it, between two dials.

Paved with 23 jewels, the hand-wound calibre 9451 MC Astrotourbillon movement features the dimensions of 38 mm x 9. 01 mm, diameter and thickness indicated respectively. It is composed of 187 individual parts. The movement runs at the rate of 21, 600 vibrations per hour and boasts a 48-hour power reserve.

The heart of this marvelous Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon watch is beating inside a 47 mm case crafted from 18 carat white or pink gold. The case exposes a circular-grained crown manufactured from the same material. It is embellished with a sapphire cabochon. Both front and back sides of the watch are fitted with sapphire crystals. The new Cartier watch is submersible to 30 meters.

The final touch is provided by a black or brown alligator leather strap. It terminates in a double adjustable folding clasp sculptured in 18 carat white or pink gold.
