Women`s clothes are more likely to keep up with fashion. It is a fact that women are more interested than men, when it comes to clothing apparel. The reason to that is that women will always try to dress in a manner that will flatter their figure. On the other hand, men`s clothes are more practical and in a way very simple to wear, so they can feel comfortable. The difference to men and women apparel is basically the difference between men and women`s attitude to fashion.
We live in a world where it`s all about Photoshop and looking good. So, it`s only natural women`s clothes and men`s clothes develop as well. Women want to escalate their beauty. On the other hand, men as well, they have increased their expectations.
So, which are the fundamental characteristics when it comes to women and men apparel? What women pay attention to when buying women`s clothes? Or even when buying men`s clothes? Because it is known that in modern societies women do all the shopping. The general impression is that clothing apparel should be something modern, something that is able to outdo others, women especially.
Nowadays people live in constant competition. They feel they have to contest on every level with each other. And men and women apparel make no exception to that. Women obviously show their rivalry in terms of women`s clothes. As for men, they are not so interested in this kind of competition, being more interested in things like gaining muscle, fitness, football and so on. We can say that fashion is to women what football is to mess.
In the 21th Century, clothes for women and men`s clothes, they have to be fun, sometimes even outrageous, in order to step out of the crowd and be noted. Even in 1930, stylewas like“breaking the monotony of life, and gives one a new lease to appear up to date."
It is all about self-image and the projection of that image. Design has become a form of art and our society is definitely an "increasing metro-sexual society".
