Detian Waterfall located in Nanning is the largest waterfall in Asia for travel in chinese, and the second largest transnational waterfall in the world. The Detian Waterfall is over 200 meters wide and has a drop of more than 70 meters. Its water rushes down a three-tiered cliff with tremendous force.
The closer to the Nanning tours waterfall that we got, the less of it that we were able to see. But at least we were able to feel a little bit of the spray from the falls to help alleviate some of the discomforting stickiness brought about by the stifling heat and humidity. And regardless of where it was cooler and mistier, there was no relief from mosquitoes. A separate path branched off the aforementioned dead-end path, which then passed by a small shrine and eventually led us to the 53rd border marker right on the China-Vietnam border. We noticed that there was a little tented market consisting of vendors selling souvenirs as well as some local produce. It was quite interesting to hear both Vietnamese and Mandarin Chinese spoken simultaneously.
In addition to these breath-taking waterfalls, What to see in Nanning? there’s also an abundance of other stunning sights to be seen. Such as beautiful green treed covered peaks that over lap like crashing waves, the Leiping Stone Forest, and the Water Stone Forest. Levels of limestone caves can be found everywhere throughout the area. There’s also the Qiaomiaoping Lake which is sure to mesmerize all guests with its peculiar shaped under water rocks, its glass like water, and beautiful multilevel falls. Among the area you’ll find No.53 Boundary Marker, which holds a great meaning, along with many historical sights, cultural relics, and a vast array of rare animals.
