We say that we believe in a lot of things, but we tend to only realize our beliefs in those things that we perceive as essentially positive or socially acceptable; things we would care to carry in conversation. What we fail to see is that we accept into belief many things that we have no need of or any good use for. For instance, we may admit belief in a Divine Creator, and in love and truth and the inherent good of mankind. We may admit to all of these while at the same time ignoring that we have also accepted beliefs in sickness, disease, violence, hatred, war and death. We accept the latter simply because they have been accepted by those whom have gone before, and we unconsciously accept them as a matter of course. Even though we may not embrace the latter or express them in our daily lives, we believe in them nonetheless. Only through our ongoing belief in them do they take their existence, as they have no causative source in themselves. I want to impress upon you that in the long run, if left unto them selves, unaided by your consciousness; your beliefs will cause you more misery than joy. You say that your positive beliefs bring you comfort in those times of misery or tragedy, but it is your negative beliefs that bring you those moments of misery and tragedy in the first place. You may say that this is my opinion, and you would be right, unless I can back it up with some sort of proof.

Let me then try to explain -- You say that you believe in all of these positive things, and many more of the like. You feel that these beliefs give your life a richer more fulfilling meaning, but every time there is evidence to the contrary, or there are symptoms that contradict one or more of your beliefs, it is often the seed of doubt or fear. This doubt or fear, can and will, undermine your belief and often cause you to change or replace it. This will have a hobbling effect on your spirituality and harmonious existence by keeping you in, what is at best, a state of marginal or juggled balance. They stymie confident forward movement -- movement toward a state of true enlightenment. It is the frustration of trying to do one thing while thinking another, which will inevitably dissolve any real sense of security and challenge the very foundations of that innermost peace. There can be no lasting peace where there is doubt or fear, and there is no doubt or fear where there is "knowing". Therefore, it is not what we believe that brings us peace; it is what we "know" that makes for a lasting peace.

You see, if there is naught except for the Creator, and the Creator is purely Love, then how anything, that is not of Love, can have any real existence in its self, becomes clearly impossible. There cannot be two infinities as each would limit the other, nor can there be a duality as then there would be a stalemate. Therefore, only within the Individual Mind, can the errant belief in that which is contrary to the Truth or Love be given any existence. This existence then, is wholly contingent upon the maintenance, or ignorant allowance, of these wrongful beliefs held within the Individual Minds, which is the sole source of their manifestation. Without the belief to support it, the negative simply vanishes. That which is of the Truth cannot act against its self, lest all should perish. Therefore, that which seems to act against the Truth is simply the absence of the Truth and therefore a belief in error. One should never endeavor to believe that which is not true; never embrace falsity because it is handed down to you from one boldly proclaiming it as the Truth. Ultimately, it is always up to the individual as to what they accept into belief and embrace as part of that which defines them.

Belief is but the seed of the plant that is called knowing, and it is in the actual fruit or effect wherein lies the proof of the seed. In the long run, it is not the seed or belief that we are interested in, but in the fruit of the plant or effect that "knowing" produces. We must confirm that the seed or belief is rooted in the Truth, and until we know this we should not partake of the fruit or effect. We plant the seed of belief within ourselves, but as soon as it begins to sprout we must determine if the fruit is of a good kind before we harvest. If we find that the belief is NOT good for one and all, we must remove the plant, root and all and cast it away, for the fruit or effect is surely poisonous. Be not deceived by attractive colors or pleasant aroma, and sweet tastes for these are but outward appearances, and are often presented to mask or disguise the tainted wares or beliefs just as the wolf in sheep's clothing deceives the Sheppard. If the wolf or error goes undetected it can rob you of many of your good sheep or good beliefs. For one wrong belief taken true can cause you to question or turn a blind eye to many of your loyal Truths. The good news, those loyal truths will still be there waiting when you realize and cast out the error that estranged them in the first place. Truth will never turn its back on anyone.

Now a belief is one thing and the thing that is believed is quite another. Our happiness or misery are only our beliefs, and the thing believed has neither happiness nor misery in it. Now it is of vast importance to know what and why we believe -- for that which we know, we have no belief of, we have proof, so it is that which we do not know which is a mystery and causes us to create belief. This is where we must exercise caution, in these beliefs that we accept or reject based upon our judgment. For once we are convinced of the truthfulness of any belief and we accept it into our life or livingness, forces and powers are set immediately into action to supply these beliefs with form, and evidence or symptoms of their being. In the case of truthful harmonious beliefs, favorable conditions and experiences are brought forth, but where the belief is in error or ignorance the opposite is the case, and all misery and undesirable conditions arise. Happiness and misery are the effects of our belief put in practice. Any belief that we hold that can bind burden or hardship to another, also bind it to us. To believe that anyone can have any irregularity or disease or anything of the sort, even if we believe ourselves to be free of such, still subjects us to the same. For it is not the belief that anyone else may become afflicted, it is the belief that anyone can become afflicted at all -- which will always include ourselves, as we are all ONE. We must learn to see the perfection that is in all, through all and above all.

We cannot rely on mere belief to sustain our Faith and our harmony -- our happiness or Joy. We might initially accept something by belief, but we must captivate each belief and inspect it, and find the correlative Truth that lives within each of us that gives vitality and substance to any belief. We must prove them to be of that Truth that pre-exists all belief, and then quit believing them, and start knowing them. If you cannot find such a correlative Truth within yourself then you must accept that the belief is in error and discard it. Every Truth that is present in the Universal has an equivalent Truth within each individual, and Truth put into practice always yields more Truth and greater harmony, never less. To simply be satisfied in our beliefs is to take our trust and put it up on a shelf and blindly accept it for its own sake. Ignorant obedience may have its rewards, as ignorant disobedience has its punishment, but Wisdom seeks to know what Master it serves just as higher intelligence seeks to better understand the working of the Laws of the Universe -- to reinforce its Faith with Action and solidify the foundations of its knowledge with Truth.

That which is Truth cannot be destroyed, changed or deceived, for Truth is absolute, and is the same no matter the direction from which you approach it. Belief, on the other hand, is uncertain and subject to change, reformation and even abandonment, in the face of conflicting evidence or alternate belief. That which is false has no source in itself and will seek to destroy itself over time. Only that which is True is eternal and remains the same through all experience. A belief is like reading a book about doing something -- the Truth is actually doing the thing. You see, in my opinion, the word Faith has been somewhat mixed up with the word trust. Faith is not a noun, Faith is a verb -- it is not the belief one holds about something, but the action one takes based on their belief, which transforms the belief into knowledge. Faith is not the belief that you can walk on the water; Faith is stepping out of the boat. For you know that the Truth will always support you. Faith without action becomes just another word in the dictionary; Faith with action becomes Truth.

Again, let me explain -- let us say that you see your friend walking toward you. Do you "believe" that it is your friend, or do you "know" it is your friend? You know it is your friend, but how do you know it is your friend? I am not talking about simple recognition here; I'm talking about knowing something. Do you know that this is your friend because they have not attempted to harm or injure you in any way? Or because you think that they have never deceived you or done you any wrong or spoken against you behind your back? Is it because they have never harbored ill will against you in moments of turmoil? No. It is because of the way you feel when you are with them that lets you know that they are your friend. You feel good and happy to be in their company -- you feel safe and loved -- accepted as you are, not as you are expected to be. And you feel comfortable in accepting them in the same way -- as they are. That is how you "know" that they are your friend. But this knowing cannot be shown to another, you simply know it in your own heart -- it is true.

We often buy things or ideas that we have no need for simply because they are offered to us in a state of trust. By this I mean that the one whom offers the thing or idea is one whom we trust for one reason or another. They may be a parent, a doctor, a priest or teacher or a person of some social esteem, or whatever sort of person we see as being inherently trustworthy. And without question we sometimes allow their wares to become our wares, but there is always a price attached, and when it comes time to pay we may find that we have spent more than we have to get this thing or idea that we had no real need of in the first place. Now we are cast into prison for our debt, that is to say, this idea or thing binds us down like a tether or chain, and sometimes we are completely unaware of the source of this binding or even that we are bound at all, but we remain bound nonetheless. And the Truth or Science comes to us and shows us the error of our acquisition and frees us from our debt and we are at once put at liberty. And this Truth or Science makes these things clear to our understanding and we now know how to avoid such debt. The wrong belief or error or ignorance of the world is the acquisition which put us in debt, and our not recognizing the error is our bondage, and the Truth or Science is our riches which frees us from our debt, and those whom we trusted without "sure" knowing are the peddlers who sold us the false ideas that bound us down.

Before we buy any idea we must first find the correlative Truth that is always there within us -- that part of us that rings of absolute Truth and resonates with the thing or idea that makes the ideas true nature known to us. If we can find the correlative Truth within our self then we find it to be of the Truth or Science. Then we know that it is real and eternal and that it will not bind us down but only lift us upward in its wisdom or Spirit toward the harmony of the Life-In-Itself. We then have proof of the thing or idea, and therefore, of it we need no belief, as we now know it to be true and real. We choose not to live in the uncertain world of mystery or belief where superstitions are born -- which is unstable, and will consume itself over time. We instead choose to live in the world of Truth or Science, which through the sure knowledge and proof that its foundations lay firmly in the Love, which is the Source, which is eternal. Remember always, as you make your way, that everyone is your teacher, and everyone is your pupil, and most importantly be ever so certain that every lesson you both give and receive are of the Truth -- that they have their essence in the Wisdom or Spirit -- the Life-In-Itself.

This is not to say that all belief is wrong or in error, for even the mighty oak starts as but a small acorn. Certainly the belief, like the seed, that is rooted in Truth or Science will never bind you down, but do not remain content to preserve this belief on that shelf undisputed. All knowledge starts out as belief, but you must take it -- prove it within -- and once proven, live it in the sure knowledge of its Truth. Then when you teach it, you can do so with the confidence that only Wisdom or Spirit can bring forth out of the Truth or Science, and rest assured that your every pupil will be raised by it as well. You will know that each ear upon which it falls will be enriched and increased in the same Wisdom that made the entire Universe and all the Life. Remember, that which is True can never be destroyed, and that which is error can never sustain. And for every Truth that is present in the Universal there is a correlative Truth present in each Individual. And once the Believer becomes the Knower, a very important step has been made in the evolutionary process of the Spirit, for in the Knower lays the absolute surety of the oneness of all that is. In this absolute knowledge you can then prepare for the step from Knowing to Being.

A good day is one in which all of your questions get answered,
All of your answers get questioned,
And only the True and Fine makes its Home in your Heart.

The Universe is an ever-fluctuating equation
Whose answer is always ONE.
