I have felt the need to give more information about this subject to create more of a balance. I have drawn form the resources of the people who have posted here. This is part of a Comment by Hillary Adrian Hitt. This is an interview, conducted by Bill Moyers.
After eight years, I am once again proud to be called an American. It is so encouraging to see that President Obama is unafraid to stand in front of the world and proclaim his commitment to tolerance, dignity, and peace for ALL humankind. He campaigned on a call for change and hope in the world, instead of violence, mistrust, and "more of the same" rhetoric from the Bush-Chaney andministration. Does he face opposition here at home from die hard conservatives, Christian fundamentalists who have welded Christianity and blind patriotim, and powerful lobbyists who exist to maintain power in the halls of Congress? You bet! But, let us remember that We the People of these United states heard the call of HOPE and elected this man to office in what I believe to be the most important election that ever took place in this nation. We can only hope that President Obama will be able to achieve this goal with the help of us all.
