Thank you Lana! I see the Peace Clinic as being so important to serve (any) community that all the thoughts come rushing up and I do not know where to start! We are meeting once a month, on a Saturday only for two hours. We have had two clinics and the response is phenomenol from both the practitioners and the clients. As our volunteer base grows, I see us expanding our hours of operation.
My vision for a Peace Clinic is a safe place for people to explore the realms of inner peace and extend that feeling into the world. I want to spread the feeling of inner peace and show people how that feeling of inner peace connects with and raises the vibration of the feeling of peace in the world. This feeling is accessible to all folks, and it comes from inside! The Peace Clinic empowers peoples to find their pathway to inner peace.
*A venue is important, a place where people feel welcomed and safe. Could even be outside!
*Encouraging volunteers to participate and share their modalities is important also.
There are many healing modalities that result in relaxation and the Peace Clinic provides a time and place for practitioners to share a bit (20minutes) of their service to demonstrate how helpful their modality is to creating peacefulness. Also, these wonderful relaxation modalities and healing modalities should be available to everyone- not just those who can afford regular treatments. At least in America, it is common to turn to pharmaceuticals to 'calm down' and many people wait till their body is in a state of dis-ease before they go looking for another way... Also, I feel that we could all greatly benefit from living in a society where we all reconginze our own inner power to heal, and to guide our lives. I want to live in a society where I work with Doctors and healing practitioners for my health and wellness! All too often, I hear people blindly giving away their power to Doctors/ healers/ psychics to cure them, diagnose them, or give them answers. Yes, we are here to help each other, but giving our power away will not create health or wellness!! There are many answers that come from within, and sometimes this guidance sends us to other people, but look inside first people!!!! Okay, I digress, I feel strongly about this.
One of the reasons we are offering Reiki at this Peace Clinic is because Reiki is something everyone can learn and practice. Reiki is so simple and so compatible with any belief system. Even people who do not have the money to go out and receive regular Reiki treatments are able to become Reiki channels themselves with an attunement and class. Reiki usually results in feelings of peacefulness and it can be a pathway to learning more. We had to focus on Reiki being a way to create relaxation because in this country to claim Reiki as a way that creates healing could get us involved in legal trouble (lets change that too!).
We chose meditation also because it is the first step in creating awareness. We guide people through a 20 min meditation that connects them with the feeling of peace, and then extends that peace into our community, state, country, world, and earth.
On clinic days, we have two people at each post. Two people in charge of greeting clients and directing them to where they want to be, two people running the meditation, and at least two Reiki practitioners per client. I encourage the volunteers to not offer medical or healing advice, but to only empower clients to explore looking within. Practitioners are encourage to leave business cards if clients would like a full treatment.
The Peace Clinic is a way for those who are new to the 'aquarian energy' to begin exploring the possibilities.
Shine on!
