Can we really change the ways of the world by simply saying we want peace?
Not if people go on allowing the established system to flourish.

There's been so much emotional incontinence over the election of B.O that it's hard to know where people imagine this 'change' is going to come. It certainly isn't in the way governments are run. Does anyone seriously imagine this guy will turn his back on the sponsors of his succesful bid for the White House: firms like J.P. Morgan do not contribute enormous sums of money to a candidate unless they are sure of a return on their investment, and Mr. Obama is as much in their debt as the rest of Main St. after the scandalous bail-out plan became law.
Make no mistake: the only way to change anything in this system is a complete readjustment of our own expectations, our own sense of values and justice.
But they're so different, you may say, and you're right, so many different ways of looking at the world prevail but one overriding sentiment is voiced time and again wherever you are in the world: "Peace". A safe place to bring up our children. "Peace". Somewhere we can live without strife or judgement. "Peace". Above all: "Peace", is what everyone says they want yet fear the consequernces. What shall we do when a world is at peace, won't it be dull?
No. It will be beautiful.
Imagine.
Then, act.
