Stop the suffering, stop the apartheid, stop the oppression, of the Palestinian people. STOP the slaughtering in Gaza!
I want us to all live together in peace and harmony. This is my dream! I want Palestinians to have a chance to live decent lives with dignity and pride once again. I am so hearbroken by this new wave of massive slaughtering in Gaza (a huge outdoor walled in prison). This will not create an atmosphere of love and peace.
I hope that Israel will soon realize that Palestinians have a right to live and share this region with a state of their own too. They too deserve a safe home where they can thrive, love and worship as they choose. We must remind ourselves that this is their ancestral home. They are inidigenous to this region.
I have grown to love Palestine and the Palestinian people as I have spent time there in my new home with my new family. I did not realize the severity of the suffering and oppression against these wonderful people until I experienced it for myself. Too many eyes are closed to the persecution that has been going on for the past 60 years in Palestine. Palestinians do not have another land to migrate to. Not many Palestinians living in occupation have an opportunity to get an education. There are very few jobs in Palestine. These people are kind, sweet, loving people who shower their family members with great love and respect. I came to Palestine as an American and I was showered with love and respect.
In spite of their daily sufferings Palestinians still smile.
You see, they aren't just suffering great losses of freedom, losses of homes and loved ones but they must also look at the land stolen from them everyday of their lives while new immigrants from other lands live in luxery, freely on home sites of their ancestors. The Palestinians are imprisoned by apartheid walls separating them even from one another. They must see beautiful super highways built through their reduced, walled in territory only for Israelies to use connecting the ultra modern Israeli settlements which they can see but not touch. They themselves live in crowded, impoverished situations where water is cut off irradically for indefinite periods of time. They cannot pay a fair price for a car in their occupied territory but they must drive beat down old cars that cost 3 to 4 times their value. Most people do not even own a car in occupied Palestine. Palestinians cannot even move freely within their occupied territory without enduring checkpoints where they are sometimes turned back for no reason. More psychological oppression to try to beat them down.
This injustice, oppression, occupation, dispossession and apartheid has been going on since 1948. (Ethnic Cleansing) This is a very long time to continue on the same horrible path by the occupiers. I still don't understand why the world does not have sympathy for the Palestinians and continues to turn a blind eye to the horrible attrocities going on at the hands of the Israeli govenment backed by the United States. I am ashamed. This makes me cry.
I saw for myself what it was like to live under such an oppressive occupation where so many talented, hard working people are not allowed to live decent lives or find work. Those who do have somewhat decent jobs must endure 3 hour lines passing through humiliating checkpoints every morning just to go to work to provide for their families.
The Israeli government populated by a people who once suffered unspeakable attrocities at the hands of Nazis are themselves using psychological methods similar to the Nazis to try to beat down the Palestinian population.
Watch this video to see for yourself what daily life is like in Palestine. Many of you will be shocked, I am sure. I was.
