Sales of Activision's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare were apparently down as much as 27 percent in the month of November, compared to sales of last year's Call of Duty: Ghosts. The news comes from retail tracker NPD, pertaining to sales figures during this November, leaked by industry analyst firm Piper Jaffray to StreetInsider.Activision itself has revealed that its projected sales for the end of the year account for the billion-dollar franchise taking a bit of a nose dive, one of the indicators being the decrease in pre-orders.The latest entry in the series offers a novel take on the familiar military first-person shooter genre, by introducing a bunch of futuristic gadgets and trying to impress with some solid acting performances from Kevin Spacey and Troy Baker. In spite of this decline in sales, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was still the leading video game in the United States during November, and publisher Activision even bragged that it was one of the best-selling FIFA 16 games of the entire year.CoD:AW is still consistently at the top of sales charts, being last week's top contender in the United Kingdom too, unable to dethrone FIFA 15 from its rightful place as ruler anymore, after having done so for a couple of weeks.
