Trent Williams wants more W's

So while he was pleased for running back Ryan Torain, who rushed for a career high 172 yards in Sunday's 17 16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and proud of the offensive line's performance, the defeat was Williams's focus.

"We didn't win the game," Williams said as he dressed slowly in the locker room at FedEx Field. "It's great to run for a lot of yards and all that, but we're not winning these games.

"If you win the games and then do all of that, then you can feel good about it. But that's not where we're at right now. We've just got to find ways to do all the other stuff and win."

In his return to the lineup after missing four games because of a lingering hamstring injury, Torain, a second year running back, provided a spark from the start. On Washington's first play from scrimmage, Torain ran behind the left side of the line for a career long 54 yard gain.

In the first two quarters, he rushed for 158 yards with an 8.8 yard average. Torain's rushing total was the highest in a first half since former New York Giants back Tiki Barber had 171 yards against the Redskins on Oct. 30, 2005.

"That was great," Williams said. "It was great to see him go out there and do that, and it was great for the way we [the offensive line] played. When guys are running like that, you feel good that you're doing the job up front."

Williams was among four new starters along the offensive line this season, and the group could undergo another major makeover before the 2011 season. Washington does Joe Staley Kids Jersey not have a championship caliber group yet, and Coach Mike Shanahan will be under pressure next season to show that his team has progressed significantly.

"I think we're coming together," said Williams, who is expected to be the longterm anchor of the offensive line. "We're working and getting Jimmie Ward Red Jersey better, but you never know what's going to happen.

"We just have to keep going out there, playing hard and finish the season strong. That's what's important now."

Anyway, I think the best situation for the Redskins offseason is to be able to pick up a young guard www.official49ersnflproshop.com/Nike-Carlos-Hyde-Jersey.html (Logan Mankins) and a young center (dude from the panthers). This way our 1st and 2nd round pick can become more flexable. If the panthers decide not to pick AJ Green 1 overall, he should be there when we pick. Now the thing is which WR does Shanny like better AJ Green or Julio Jones? Last year everyone graded Okung better than Trent, but we choose Trent.

In the second round, if on the board, the Redskins should grab Christian Ponder. He is an underrated QB right now, he has high potential and great talent. Draft him and have him compete with Mc5.

If we want to go the other way around, if Mallett, Newton, or Locker is on the board when we pick in the 1st round, take one of them. Then in the 2nd round, if available get a guy such as Johathen Baldwin, or the WR from Notre Dame.

But I think our priorities have to be grabing a young guard and center in FA, in order to use your 1st and 2nd on a WR and QB. Your post is another classic example of why this team will continue to fail. Our 1st round draft Joe Staley Red Jersey pick ahould be on another OL like Trent, not getting another used product like we did with Jamal Brown and Artis Hicks through FA. official49ersnflproshop.com/Nike-Eric-Reid-Jersey.html How do you folks expect to build a good team by FA? Not to mention that uh, we have no 2nd round pick (hence Mc5). Sheesh we have Armstrong, Moss, Jimmie Ward Womens Jersey and Austin. Give these guys a chance for christs sakes. If we can't have a strong line to protect Mc5, there's no point in even trying anymore. We do have our 1st, 2nd, 2 5ths, 6th and 7th rounders stil available and will get a 2012 4th round pick from Oakland. There may not be a ton of difference between the 8th overall pick and the 15th pick, so we might get a sucker to move up and grab extra picks. We don't need another LT. RT's rarley are picked in the top 10, plus Jammal Brown has played well as of late.

We do need playmakers as well. Sheesh we have Armstrong, Moss, and Austin. Give these guys a chance for christs sakes. If we can't have a strong line to protect Mc5, there's no point in even trying anymore.
