What is Love?

Most of the people will say that they have no answer to that question. And
if so, they assume nobody have it and that Love doesn't exist at all. But they are
wrong.
It has been said: "Love your near one as you love yourself". That could be
understood in two ways.
One way is: Don't do to others, what you wouldn't like to be done to you.
But there is much deeper way: Love yourself, only then you would be able to
love others. That is therefore the fundamental and most crucial principle of
Love:
1. Love yourself
Can the sad give joy? Can the unhappy give happiness, warmth and Love? To
love your self is not egoism. On the contrary, egoist is the one who
doesn't love himself and seek compensation in personal gain. The one who
love himself knows that he/she will achieve a biggest satisfaction by
caring for others. If you live in peace and harmony with yourself, you can
live with others. You can give Love.

Now it is necessary to say what Love is not.
2. Falling in love is not Love
We were raised up on romantic literature, movies and our personal experience,
where falling in love is wrongly accepted as Love. But they are
completely different experiences.
It is said: "Who looks outside dreams, who looks inside awakes"
When you fall in love you are blind. It is not the real person who you
perceive, but a fruit of your imagination, your dream. The one who loves
sees his/her beloved as he is. No craving for the "good", neither aversion
of the "bad". Love is without passion, it is with patience. Enamored
relations will pass away and you'll awake with the feeling that "again you
fell in love with the wrong person". But true Love will stay. Relationships
can vary and change, but you will love a person who is worth your Love till
your last day. (When asking yourself if a person worth your Love or not,
possible criterion can be an answer to the question: "Does this person loves
him/herself and is he happy with him/herself?")
When you fall in love you wish satisfaction for yourself and you look at
your mate as at your own property. "I am your's", "You are mine", "You
belong to me, I belong to you". The one, who loves, wishes happiness to the
beloved person. And it does not matter, whether this person is with you or
with someone else, near or faraway, sharing Love with you or with the other.
When you fall in love, you wish to conquer and control. The true Lover gives
total freedom.

3. Be self-sufficient
That is the third fundamental principle, without which you cannot love,
because you are dependent and so, not free. It follows as a result of Loving
yourself.
Love what is in you and be able to use it to enrich your experiences, to
acquire inner balance, harmony and abundance. Know to make yourself happy, filled with joy, interested. Know to help yourself, to cool yourself down,
to observe - and you will be not dependent on whether you are alone or with
somebody. If a person fears loneliness, if he is in a rally for a company, he
is not free and won't be able to love.

4. Love is free
It is very clear. Love cannot be kept in prison - it will immediately die.
Everyone who tries to guard Love by means of contracts, promises, limitations,
threats or fear will be left with nothing. All is fair in Love. Your Lover is
free, the same as you do. Every moment, here and now, follows from free,
clear and consistent will, to be present in it, or to go. There is no
betrayal in Love. There is no despair. A person is free to be with you, or
with someone else, or alone. There is no loss in Love, because your Love
does not end.

5. You are Love!
A. Einstein said: "matter is condensed energy", to which can be added that
every atom of our body is condensed Love. We are made of Love. We are Love.
Everything and everyone around us is Love. Even hatred, jealousy, greed are
Love directed against oneself. Transformed, this energy becomes
compassion, patience, generosity. Destructive energy becomes creative. It is
simply the other side of the coin, because everything is Love.
When we hate, we destroy ourselves first.
When jealous, we punish ourselves first.
When greedy, we deprive ourselves first.
But Love has the power of creative transformation.
We are not only a "fruit of Love" of our parents; we are woven from Love -
this universal energy that creates stars, planets and galaxies, and
everything existing on them.
We are a genotype of Love.

6. Love is universal
Love is not limited by bias to one person. As a mother of many children
cannot say to her child: "I love only you", so a person who loves, can love
many. Love cannot be kept behind locks in a cupboard. It is not worth
to save it for one person either. Love is for all, is given openly, generously and
as much as possible.

7. A Magic Necklace
Once in a millions of incarnations a miraculous fusion of souls happens. Two
people unite as a link in an endless necklace of Love. Those who find their
true half are deeply conscious of the power and sanctuary of that miracle.
Every such link is connected with other links and becomes a conductor of the
Life Impulse.
This is the DNA of Love.
