What PEACE means to me and you...

We can add meaning to words and for me PEACE is a great
acronym for:

People - take away people out of this earth and you literally
have an empty shell because people have an important role
to play and that is to take care of the resources and manage
them well and not to abuse it or destroy them! We are here
for a great purpose - to serve others and make this world
a better place for all people.

Ethical - it is not only important to do things right, we must
do the right things! So what is right or wrong? I was fortunate
to learn this great lesson from Zopa Rinpoche at Root Institute
in India, he said that if it benefits people it is the right thing to
do but if it hurts people it is the wrong thing to do.

Action - Albert Einstein said: "Nothing happens until something
moves." We all have an important role to play to achieve world
peace. The best way to lead is to lead by example through our
thoughts, words and actions. Let's do something about it and it
is great we have this website to promote and educate people
on the importance of achieving world peace so that people can
sleep in peace without worrying about have a bomb landing on
them!

We want leaders who are wise enough to realize that every
soldier's death cause great sufferings to many people, his mother,
father, grandfather, grandmother, wife, daughters, sons, nephews,
nieces, uncles, aunties and friends. Don't you think soldiers want
peace too and want to be at home with their loved ones?

If the leaders want war, then ask them why they are not having
their sons and daughters serving in the frontlines where soldiers
are dying by the thousands? If you are wise you will realize that
war is the most inhumane action where people kill each other
over a disagreement!

Co-operation - why leaders think win-lose when they can
think win-win? Why go into a war when there is a better way
to work things out? Why cause so much sufferings to your
own people who want peace? Why can't we treat each other
like brothers and sisters? Why can't we live in peace when it
is such a wonderful thing to do? Why not co-operate and
make this world a better place and live in peace?

Enrich - why don't we stop the killings and destruction?
Why not start enriching people's lives and building decent
homes for people to live. It's a real shame to governments
and their leaders to have slums and child prostitution in
their countries, it is a clear indication of incompetency
and poor leadership! If innocent children cannot be protected
how can we say we live in a civilized society!

How can the rich have peace of mind when they see their
fellow citizens live in slums and children being abused
in child prostitution and living in misery? It is being selfish
foolishly because slums are the breeding ground for contagious
diseases such as SARS and bird flus. Let's be selfish wisely
and help others because by doing so we are helping ourselves!
If SARS reappear again, where are you going to hide?

The World Health Oganization (WHO) has warned about
the impending bird flu which literally means it is on its way,
the big question is when will it happen? Are the leaders
doing the right things to reduce the chances of this bird flu
happening in their country and if it happens are they well
prepared to handle it?

The tsunami disaster was a wake up call to governments
to co-operate with each other to educate the people on
being prepared for a tsunami and to understand what is
a tsunami and the dangers of it! Thousands of children
died because they were not educated on what is a tsunami
and what to do when they see one approaching! Are the
warning systems in place to warn the people on future
tsunamis?

A pandemic can kill hundreds of millions of people as it
has done in the past if the governments, leaders and the
people are not prepared for it! Everything happens for a
reason, maybe this is nature's way of telling the world leaders
and people of the world to co-operate and live in peace
instead of advocating wars and spending billions of dollars
on weapons of destruction and stocking more atomic
bombs with the intention to destroy millions of lives
in seconds! The enemy is within, and it is ignorance!

Imagine the hundreds of billions of dollars spent on the
weapons of destruction were used to help make this
world a better place, to prevent hunger, poverty and
to give people decent homes instead of living in
slums and disease-infested areas.

Love and wisdom is the key to happiness, success and
peace of mind.

It will certainly help a lot if everyone will just spare
a minute of silence and pray for world peace and
pray the leaders of the world will grow wiser and
everyone in the world will in their own ways help
achieve world peace!
