Even working for peace has a cost and someone has to pay for it.
Association for Communal Harmony in Asia (ACHA) is a very thrifty organization. It pays no rent, nothing for heating or air-conditioning its office, spends no money on entertainment, and has no paid employees, since all its work is done by volunteers. Still it has to spend money to do what it does.
Last year, ACHA spent $1,007. Internet dues of $560 accounted for more than half (56%) of its expenses. Government and domain fees of $228 amounted to about a quarter (23%). Supplies and mailing expenses were $135 (13%) and $84 (8%) respectively.
In 2010, ACHA expenses are estimated to be $1,675. The amount includes $500, estimated for supplies for peace camps for children and youth, and experiential workshops for trainers, to be held in India and Pakistan. Other costs will be borne by the local organizers/partners, while, as usual, I and my wife will bear our own travel, boarding and lodging expenses.
Without annual membership dues, or any other source of income, ACHA has to depend on the generosity of others to meet its expenses. But, this year, donations for only 37% ($620) of our estimated expenses have been received so far.
Hence, I appeal to you for help in making up the shortage of $1,055. Please mail your tax-deductible donation check/money order/draft made out to “ACHA,” and address it to:

For your tax records we will send you an official receipt as soon as we receive your contribution.
Best wishes,
Pritam
