Zhujiajiao Water Village on Shanghai for Travel

Zhujiajiao (Chinese: 朱家角; Pinyin: Zhūjiājiǎo Zhèn; Zhujiajiao means "Zhu Family Settlement") is a township in the Qingpu District of Shanghai along Tour of China. The population of Zhujiajiao is around 60,000. The town has a very vibrant ancient water village that is the focus of this article. Formed 1,700 years ago, Zhujiajiao was an important trading hub for the surrounding countryside, and many of the buildings that can be seen there today date back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Traditionally, goods and people were ferried on the small canals from house to house, passing under the 36 ancient stone bridges that are all still in use by locals and tourists alike.

The waterside town was prosperous due to its cotton clothing and rice businesses. Many historical buildings like rice shops, old banks, spice stores and a post office from the Qing Dynasty can be found here for travel to Shanghai. There are many places of interest in Zhujiajiao Waterside Town, including the Fangsheng Bridge, Northern Street formed in the Ming Dynasty, Baoguo Buddhist Temple, Temple of Town God, Xi Family Hall, Kezhi Garden and Zhuxi Garden, among other highlights. Additionally, Zhujiajiao is famous for its “3 most’”: the most celebrities, the most Ming and Qing architectures, and the most teahouses.

Lang Bridge (Veranda Bridge), also named Huimin Bridge, is the only wooden bridge and the most featured span in this town. It has wooden bars on the two sides and upturned eaves above, just like a narrow corridor.
