Sameh, How are you feeling today. I just spoke on the phone to Majed in Gaza. It was a remarkeable conversation.
I found something about an Egyptian journalist..
The columnist Mona Eltahawy writes for Egypt's Al Masry Al Youm and Qatar's Al Arab.
Do you know her? She wrote about Israel and Hamas i think. What do you think.
Feel Well! Let us hope that 2009 will bring peace and quiet in our region.

Sameh, I pray and hope that a cease fire will go into effect soon. I see in Israeli newspapers that many journalists, authors and even military advisors are encouraging this.

Sameh, When i pointed out israel's fear that Hamas (and others) are interested in wiping Israel off the map..you did not disagree...You just pointed out that this is what Israeli is doing to Palestine today
Israel squandered the lull...the letter you wrote me points out the we did nothting to protect our civilian population in Sderot, etc. Protect from Gazan aggression!!
I agree with the letter that Israel should have risked negotiations with Hamas (even as hamas develops stronger arsonel to attalk Israeli civilian centers..or prepares suicide bombers)..Things are complicated..things are not good.
But you seem to think that even your government, and Turkey are wrong in pointing out Hamas wrong ways.
if there is anybody on this planet who hates war, bloodshed and a constant open wound its me this stupidity must stop it hurts you it hurts isreal and hurts the world . i dont want you to think i'm laughing at your painbut every couple of years you both decide to kill each other again and again maybe its time to find another way a way that works away to make this darkness stop

Sameh, I forgot to thank you for your friendship. Your message to me uses words that are difficult (and all in capital letters :-) But i leave the message there in respect of our creating the friendship link between us even though our points of views are so different.

Sameh, I believe that the "Killing machine" is fueled on real fears...on the real perception that Israel's very existence is at stake. It seems absurd doesn't it?
But i firmly believe that Israel is not interested in Death. It acts out of frustration..which brings it to do unjustifiable things. So i do not justify.
But the attempts of moderate people AND governments to create a Middle East that can accept Israel (IF Israel accepts the prinicipal of withdrawel) is important. So i thank Egypt-even if it may be acting with other motiviations as well.
People of good will MUST let the Islamic parties understand that martydom in the attempt to remove Israel from the map is not the way of the People.
hi i dont know who to talk to but i want to buy the gaza strip ..how much in u.s. dollars ?????

Sameh, you might be interested in the new group about stopping the war in Gaza..
I am at aloss now..knowing how bad things were in Gaza..and how much worse they are getting.
I also know that Israel can not sit by and accept the traumatizing of its citizens.
There must be another way.
I feel caught in the middle..and admire the Egyptian position..that seems, at least, to want to bring some humane solution into being.

Sameh,
In such hard times..times that make me feel at a loss..
Where no roads seem to lead to Peace..
It is warming to find new people
Coming together ..linking together
In a Human Chain of hands, reaching out
in Peace.
