Well, it is all perception.. as Lord Vishnu said -- ' I am VIDHATAA and what I have already written, will happen - However, in KALIYUG, by meditation, Astro - Remedies " hard times can be minimized to a great extent, like using an umbrella during heavy rains ( even Hhirg Veda talks about such Vedic remedies so does Bhrigu Samhita and Rishi Parashar in his Astro manual PARASHARI)

Hope I was able to address your QUEST to sone extent.

Since Vedic period there has been a UNIVERSAL QUEST of Human being to learn / know about the “Role of Destiny” and it is not. Sage Bhrigu and Sage like Parashar made it simple and designed the system which works as GPS and guides SEEKERS.

However, role of Destiny in very general terms is to “DESTINATE THE DESTINATION” based on the KARMA , carried over from past , worn on present and build the coming births. And if we are vigil, we do get the “indicators” .

Very interesting question though, I will try to answer if you may like to be specific.
