Morning,
It's not as cold as it should be round this time of the year in Moscow.. Like every other spot on earth, Russia too has been affected by global warming. While this should be -20 or more, it's only -3, and hardly any snow.. Even for a new comer like me, this doesn't feel right..

It felt, honestly, and after the pll results were published, which showed that 82% of Israelis support the war on Gaza and don't feel that excessive force has been used, it felt that Israel, government and people alike, thrive for wars.. It's heart warming knowing that it's not all one color, and it's not all the same. I tried to contact a peace now activist yesterday (a friend from Hebron gave me her number) to try to get her voice out on teh station here, just because many need to know that and hear the other side. It didn't work for technical reasons, unfortunately. I hope ur group becomes bigger and gets heard more!

Will end here, gotta get back to work.. Have a peaceful day,
Reema

Hey Ronit.. it's so good to hear that ur family's fine..

Yea. I heard of the strict rules.. and the fact that it's difficult for kids to be adopted internationally especially when it comes to the kids' cultural environments and all.. actually I am looking for kids one year or less, so they wont have so much problem to adapt.. anyway, I always believe in the miracle.. in fact, we living and breathing, already a miracle by itself..

Yea, we have programs for orphans here as well.. I just do whatever i can do locally.. but as for the babies and toddlers from that part of the world.. u know, it's just too hard to see them smelling the aroma of gun smokes rather than baby lotions, hugged by bleeding hands rather than warm blankets when they just began to get to know the world. I think u know what I am saying..

Shalom Ronit,
No, I have never been to Israel as an adult . . . It would be amazing and worthwhile to go and connect with peace activists in both Israel and Palestine. I often think about it, although the ongoing conflict makes me hesitant. An Israeli friend (now living in Canada) named Hila Russ participated in a 'Peace Walk' through Israel several years ago. I would have loved to go, but my personal circumstances at the time made it impossible. Ronit, Mohamad sh sent an email to all his iPEACE friends a few days ago seeking volunteers to help with an organization he's involved with called 'tawasul'. I looked up the website and it sounds like a very wonderful cause. I know that your group interacts with Palestinian women, and I wondered if by chance you know anything about tawasul? I am interested in trying to do some fundraising for tawasul, but need to learn more about it first. Any first-hand information you have would be very much appreciated. Thank you for the amazing work you are doing!

Hey,
Russia out of all the places, it's just like all the other places, except, well, for a few things.. crowded, crazy and full of traffic jams, the last one is, let me tell you, is nothing like any where else i've seen in the world.. It was a coincidence, nothing but a coincidence, been there for two and half years.. and that's it, khalas..

Hebron was nicer in many ways, family wise at least, which I miss the most.. I also miss the intimacy in people's lives, neighbors, friends, morning coffees, that's something the west lacks in a very ugly way.. and it'Is someting Hebron enjoys it best. I also miss the food there, my mother's cooking.. but I used to live in Ramallah for many years before leaving to Moscow, so there you go, it's been quiet a long way from home (give the too many checkpoints I had to cross between Ramallah and Hebron)..

It's great, I appreciate ur efforts really, especially on the Israeli side, which at some point, the left or peace loving members seem to have been lost in teh darkness of war loving lords..

You mean peace now the movement or peace in general? Yes am sure.. I have some friends who work in peace activities with Israelis. and my cousin was a director of one of those organizations. let me check.. give me more details.. I also once worked for an israeli palestinian org.. IPCRI and still know Gershon Baskin, you may know him..

Anyways, it would be great o know of all your activites so we can spread them around.. anything might help now that the israeli military has really gone crazy.. some bombings targeted UN schools, children killed, women and elderly. it's just sad and history will curse us all for this dark blind era..

blessings of peace,
r

Hi Ronit,

Thanks for your sharing your commitment and for your Heart-broken words. Our hearts are bleeeding, cannot watch images of dead or suffering children anymore. I am also praying strongly, I belong to a Christian group who is also committed to finding Paths of Peace and we are sharing the same concern for what is going on in your area.

hello muhamad-
i agree with you- we have to do EVERYTHING that we can to stop the war !!
you asked- what can we do?
well...
i can only share with you what we are doing here in Israel- to stop the war:
we are meeting everyday with our arab friends; and organizing activities:
some peole are going to the streets ( or to Ulmert's house) to demonstrate...
( i am not that kind of a person- but i know it is important to do!!)
yesterday- alot of my friends ( jewish and arab) were standing in white clothes - in a very big road ( in VADEE ARAA - do you know it?) protesting against the war.
a week ago- 10 of my best friends - some are well known in israel- ( as you already understood they are jewish and arab) - we did a video for peace.
each one of us spoke- in hebrew' in arabic' in english-
and i hope that tomorrow we can send it to the TV and internet.

what else?
i pray a lot -
i pray that the politic people from both sides will get some common sence and stop the killing.
i pray that all the woemn of these engry men will teach the, to be soft and competionate instead of killing.
i pray that our children will live in a good and safe and loving country.
i pray for peace.
( do you pray?)

next week i hope to meet with a group of palestinian women in KAFAR KARA
and UM EL PHACHEM and BAKAA_EL_GARBIYA - to think togheter:
WHAT CAN WE OFFER TO THE WORLD NOW ?
WHAT CAN WE DO FOR PEACE?

i am an optimistic person- i always am-
and you know what?
i can tell you that in this war i see sooooo many israeli and palestinian people who want peace- and are willing to work for it:
( and i didnt see that in the other wars before)
SO THE CHANGE IS ALREADY HERE !!!

can you gather all the people in the west bank who want peace?
can i and my freinds call you - in this meeting - on ths phone -
and can we pray togheter and thing togheter - what can we do?

blessings for peace-
your neighbour
Ronit

Hi Ronit,
Peace blessings back.
Am doing allright, am not in Hebron at the moment, actually. I am a journalist and now work in Russia. Moving out of there soon Nsha'llah. Riht now, all I do is glue myself to tv and watch the horrifying news from Gaza. I have lived those moments too many times that they just seem so close to me,

it's probably hard on both our sides, u having to carry the burden of the war lords on your side, and me having to carry the memories and pictures, stories and hopes of those who got killed!!

Regards,
R

hi ronit, how are you, i see the lovely pictures you share here, and i see the u born activist, but what can you do to stop killing more and more people in gaza, this is totaly crazy this war, the war on gaza is not only coz of the rockets, but its more and stupid that no one wanna stop this war, lets call all people all over this world to call the ulmert government and his gang to stop killing more people in gaza.
