DEAR M.C.D: The song "Space Cowboy" was written by Ben Sidran! Steve was born Oct. 5/ 43!
An American singer; guitarist and song writer!! Back then Steve Miller was more interested in Jazz and "The Steve Miller Band was first formed in 1967"!! Although, it was frist called "the Steve Miller Jazz band" and changed later to just "The Steve Miller Band"!! Ben Sidran and Boz Saggs (Or Staggs) were in the band for a short while then went on their way to do other things!! As for Pat Benetar - her music took over the world by 'Storm'!! She had hit after hit Albums and she is still singing with a band and guitarist / husband who is in the band with her. She was pregnant while doing a live show in America; but they toured all over the place. One Mobile Bus (home) was just for them and their kids! The Band had it's oun Mobile bus (home) for touring. "Love is a Battlefield" is a best seller because "Baby Boomers" understood what she was saying in her song and other songs as well!!
I hope this helps you? FROM YOUR FRIEND: LYNN SHEDLER

O amor,
Ah que lindo nome!
Uma palavra pequena,
mas com um significado imenso.
Alguém ai sabe me dizer o que é amar?
Com certeza cada um vai ter
uma história para contar.

The Love,
Oh that beautiful name!
A small word,
but with a huge significance.
Someone i know tell me what is love?
Surely each one will have
a story to tell.

Dear M.C.D.: Black Sabbath was in a class of there own! The song
War Pigs - says it all. That's where there's there a part about "babies crying"!! Boston was unique in their style and so was Led Zepplin - I couldn't actually say that they had the same style!! And Pink Floyd was way ahead of their time. They seemed to know exactly what was going on in the world that WE WEREN"T Told About!!! Don't forget that was back in the
1970's.... Now, Steve Miller and his "New Way" in the song called "space Cowboy" - the reasearch I did was: the song was
written for him in 1969. And you know or perhaps you don't -
the 60's were weird times. I thought Janis Jopplin was "Strange"
and she was. I didn't even like her voice!!! Joan Biaz - I could take her or leave her. But they picked on Karen Carpenter about being fat and she was 'no way' fat and she blew all those
women off the stage with her singing. And her looks and she had no one supporting her from these jealous assults! So, she
starved herself to the point of having a heart attack and dying!!!
The Steve Miller Band was formed in 1967 (At first known as
"The Steve Miller Blues Band") So what he meant is not for us
to know! Because HE DIDN'T write the song. There is a lot more to the storey but we can talk about that later! So Bye for
now. I'll talk to you soon. PEACE & LOVE: LYNN SHEDLER

DEAR M.C.D.: Yes, the music certainly has evolved over the years!!!
From "kinda" silly Love songs and how easy Love was at one time!
To heavier rock like Led Zepplin; Pink Floyd; Boston! Although, Pink Floyd was the hardest to get the true meaning out. My friends and I use to get 'stoned' and sit and listen to Pink Floyd
and really get a meaning out of the words of what they were
saying. Black Sabath was an other one but sang about War &
how unjust War actually is. And mixed into those was the Bee,
Gees and Super Tramp and then came Pat Benetar; Then Heart
and the list goes on and on. Because Gordon lightfoot was out
there singing away before a lot of rock groups got their start.
We really had our mixture of music in our lifetime. Michael Jackson was another one that started as a kid and I grew up
with him in the music he sang. He passed away at my age.
MICHAEL JACKSON R.I.P. (1958 - 2009)!!! I'm still upset about that
and will be for a long while! The "Baby Boomers" have had a
wild ride with the types of music our parents never had. Back
then my Mother says it was mostly dancing and Bands. Tommy
Dorsey and so on. Lawrence Welk was another band leader.
Trying to get a guy to dance is like trying to get a stubborn horse out of a stall..... So I hate Bars because of that and if I want a drink I can get one at my home a hell of a lot cheaper
too!!! We have done very well in OUR generation because what
do you think is loaded to those ipods that the younger generation wears? ? Oh, and you asked "What Steve Millar was
saying in his music? So I answered; and you gave me the weird reply that you "Related to The Steve Miller band?" So why
ask me? You know it would only be a guess on my part - right?
Anyway, I shall go for now and I hope to hear from you in the next little while. PEACE & LOVE FROM YOUR FRIEND: LYNN

Dear Michael: Well, I would have never thought of that answer!!!!
You make it sound so simple! And of course it is your choice to...
But there is so music out there these days since the 1960's and 1970's and 1980's - it's hard to choose. The 1990's was alot of RAP music - and I just can't get into that!!!!! But lately I've been into a Composer named Yanni!!! He is excellant. plus other music!! I suppose it it just a matter of choice....
