It's really a great service you do by keeping so many groups functioning and encouraging people to think and combine ideas themselves. Certainly the Buddha said not follow what you've read or some one else, but know through your own gnostic experience.

the carpenter

the carpenter
crafted his boat

the perfectly made

designed to stay afloat

in any storm that could come its way



the carpenter slept

with confidence in the stern

while skies drew dark

and the fishermen caught fright

in the dark and dismal storm



wake up wake up

we're going to drown

going to potty menthol sink

don't you even care about us,

don't you even think?



the calm that came should have taught

the lot a thing or two

but soon to pass they faced again

skies that were not pure blue



tossed up and down they lost their nerve

would they all but drown that night

the storm was strong and lasted long

how much time till morning light?



the carpenter walked on the water

and they knew he was a ghost

but as soon as they took him aboard

they were at shore



we've tossed and turned all night

with no fish in our nets

what use is your wonderful boat you built

if it can't catch any fish?



cast your net to starboard and you shall see,

said the carpenter on the sand

and the fish they counted 153

and the party on the beach was grand



leave your nets and follow me

the strange little carpenter cried

and for some odd reason they obeyed

seeing the red in the sunrise



the stars had fallen from the sky

the moon had dimmed her light

a new day dawned for the carpenter

until he vanished out of sight



up on the mountain on a vision quest

the carpenter slipped away

but upon his boat we sail again

to greet the new found day



the good news is shared

on distant shores

to all who greet our boat

the one built by the carpenter

in every storm does float



don't throw up the jolly roger here

or some blazing union jack,

a simple fish is the simple for

the carpenter and his pack.
