Hi Biba, I still don't miss the snow in New England, especially not to drive in. You must be used to it a little though. Here it is never really cold- the last two days were cool and damp - around 50ish Fahrenheit. We are all fine- thank God it is always peaceful here. Hope it is the same for you.

Hi Biba, I wish I knew what to say. I am sure that the imam is knowledgeable in this. It is sad though, and I wonder if she would have made her religious decision knowing that it would cause this split. Honestly though, I haven't seen any marriage continue very long when one of them becomes Muslim or one leaves it, even if they ignore the advice of the imam and stay together. Usually 6 months to two years. I am not sure exactly why but it really does cause a rift between them that never seems to repair. My only advice is to be a good friend to her as much as you can. She will need your support and he will also need the support of his friends.

Hello again, I saw your question to Ali (on his page) about the lady who was married to a Muslim when she was Christian and became Muslim and then went back to being Christian. This is a special question that should be given to an very knowledgeable Islamic scholar (qari) and neither I nor brother Ali is really qualified to answer it. Usually, a marriage is dissolved when one spouse leaves Islam, but since she was not Muslim when they married, there may be an exception to the rule. It is a matter for specialized Islamic law - fiqh. There may be a scholar they can turn to in their area or online.
