Thank you for your honesty, and vulnerability Nina.
You are so close to all the pain and suffering and have obviously given and risked much.
There are Muslims who are trying to change the negative spiral. One of my meditation teachers Jack Cornfield recently returned from a trip back east where he participated with Rabies and Muslim Cleric who are working together to heal the wounds. He told a story of a Cleric who was walking through villages with pictures of Holocaust victims and when angry villagers realized they were pictures of Jews and asked why he was showing them , he answered that it is in the Koran that you should know of and have empathy for the suffering of all people, even your enemies. I share this only because I know that it will bring you some happiness to know that you do have counterparts on the other side.

i grew up in a different era then most of you..I was born in 1950. From an early age, I was exposed to the horrors of the concentration camps..I saw pictures that many of you would never show a child, but I am grateful my father showed them to me. My father brought those pictures back from Europe when he was the US Army. He knew the importance of a strong country somewhere were Jews can be safe. We werent a religious Jewish family, but our Jewishness was important. Our values were based on that. Israel was important to us. Going to the store and next to the cashier you would always find the little blue and white box to drop change into for the Jewish National Fund or sending $5 off to them to plant a tree in Israel..Gosh I dont know how many trees I planted in Israel.

My parents lived in Baltimore and many of you might not know this but Baltimore is famous for a couple of things one of them is the ship Exodus came from there. My father told me that he was approached by the Haganah to go to Israel on that ship. My father told him he would have except my sister was just born and he couldnt leave. I think he regretted not going.

I want to see peace. I beg for peace but peace has to be a two way street.

I think it's important to say the true about the responsability of Iran and Syrie about this war. If you don't speak about that, people can't understand the situation. I'm boudhist and i like prayer and compassion but i like too know the true.I think too that behind war they are weapons factory.

Your letter to Palestinians and calling them brothers is a big gesture.I join you in your sentiments of grief,shock, pain- agony and frusteration.our hearts bleed. minds blowing , but we are ,can only cry shed tears and only for lives of innocents.How helpless we are how weak our voices are looking for ears to be heard.
