A Future of Begging or Not

Founded in 2006, PROTEGO-NEPAL is a non-profit organization headquartered in Kathmandu, Nepal to meet the needs of the hundreds of street children living on the streets of this and other Nepalese cities across the country. These children, of which 80% are young boys, live and work on the streets of the cities driven there by political upheaval or domestic violence. Orphaned or abandoned by circumstances they cannot understand, they struggle to survive on the mean streets of large cities. PROTEGO-NEPAL is dedicated to helping these young children by giving them a safe place to sleep at night; protect them from abuse of older children and the authorities; and begin the slow task of rehabilitating these young lives so that they become valuable citizens of Nepal.
