International Day of Peace at the United Nations & Pathways to Peace: Building a Culture of Peace

The 27th Annual International Day of Peace Observance at the United Nations. Organized by the United Nations Department of Public Information in association with Pathways to Peace, United Religions Initiative & World Peace Prayer Society

September 21st is the International Day of Peace, officially recognized by the UN General Assembly and organizations around the world. A UN resolution adopted in 2001 calls for a global ceasefire and non-violence on the International Day of Peace—"an invitation to all nations and people to honor a cessation of hostilities for the duration of the Day."

Featuring the World Peace Flag Ceremony and Founder and President of international peacebuilding organization Pathways to Peace Avon Mattison and other representatives including Middle East Coordinator Aliza Hava and NGO Representative Michael Weiner. May peace prevail on earth!
