http://youtu.be/wBg-ULbf-lk - With lower-back pain, we want to look at the spine from the side in both the standing and seated positions. We find that with lower-back pain, the lumbar curve commonly reverses when a person sits. And as that curve reverses, it lowers the sacral base angle, and that compresses the lower-back disc.
And, so, first of all, we want to assess the back pain and see what objective documentation we have to support the pain the patients in. And, then, once we see those pictures, then we calmly will adjust the P-12 area, which is the lower thoracic area of the spine, to release some of the paraspinal muscle spasm. And, we will also adjust the fifth lumbar vertebrae area. And oftentimes, we will find that there is something out in the sacrum or in the hip joints, and we will adjust those as well.
