immediate benefit. Or is it?
Faced with the need to cut back, investing in projects designed to increase productivity and efficiency (such as

Compassionate spirituality dictates that we critique our economic practices on individual, corporate, and global levels, assessing their impact on human life and society, on personal and international relationships, and our planet’s capabilities to sustain itself and its inhabitants. It includes issues of biblical justice, human greed, and compassionate, spiritually-based economics. Any religion that does this can be part of the solution to the world's problems. Unfortunately, you are right that religion is often the problem, particularly fundamentalist religion of any kind.
I think you may find interesting the creed on which my life and work is based. Here it is:
WORLD CITIZENSHIP CREED
As a citizen of the world...
I BELIEVE in the dignity of all humanity, that each person is a being of supreme worth.
I BELIEVE in the wholeness of the human race, undivided by economic, cultural, racial, sexual or national differences.
I BELIEVE in the stewardship of life and resources to the end that all may mutually benefit from the earth's bounty and that no person may have to go without food or shelter.
I BELIEVE in the primacy of human relationships as a person committed and responsible to other persons, regardless of their economic status, race, creed or nationality.
I BELIEVE in the global community, interdependent and mutually responsible for our physical and social environments.
I BELIEVE that we are One World and affirm that I am a citizen of this world. My allegiance to it and its people, my brothers and sisters, is primary over all other political entities.
I AM, therefore, committed to the promotion and care of the whole of humanity without partiality or prejudice and with such resources as I have at my command, both within and without.
I HEREWITH AFFIRM that I wish, as much as I possibly can, to base my actions on my beliefs and thus contribute to a world where justice and compassion rule and where greed and hatred are diminished.
I invite you to join me in making this creed yours as well.

I hate the situation in Gaza, I wish it wasnt happening. I cant change it but I am going to continue to try and give people hope that someday our children and our grandchildren will never have to deal with something so awful. We all need to do what we can to try and make things better. I believe that Raudat el Salam (The Peace Preschool) is a way to change things for everybodys future. It may not make a difference this year or next year but I hope someday it will. And I am trying to put out that same message here and on my Facebook profile page- a message of hope and acceptance.
Enshallah we will live in peace soon!

I started a story group 15,000 stories. It is not easy to get all the world to reply, mostly very good English writers, the others are timid. Or the others have fewer stories with a smile in them. And this is very sad. There must be something that people remember that made them smile, and their contribution would help us to understand them. But it is maybe difficult when, like you say, hunger and shelter is of vital concern, and smiles are difficult in many parts of the world.
what do you think about this?
Nice to meet you
Stephanie
