We will work with young women who have already taken steps towards overcoming social, geographical and cultural hurdles in order that they may become the educators of tomorrow's society. We will work with young women in Egypt and Turkey and with their counterpart immigrants to Malta, Italy and Lithuania who are studying or working in the fields of education, journalism, communication and media studies.
We will inspire a thinking process focused on the difference between fundamental human rights as legal and political concepts and then we will move towards concepts more personal and relevant to our daily lives. Participants will work on concepts like human rights...as opposed to human wrongs. Questions about what can be said intrinsically right and wrong and about the elements in our life that helps us reach such conclusions.
Participants will turn these thoughts into script, into creative audiovisual video clips be it individually or in groups. They will learn about the use of media and about the production process as a tool towards bringing people together to find what is common between them. It will be a process of self discovery and an exercise in self expression about oneself rather than about rights as some well defined set of rules that are often bent and seen through different lenses according to political convenience and relativist attitudes.
