Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2nd 1869 in Porbandar in Gujarat.

Known as 'Mahatma' (great soul), Gandhi was the leader of the Indian nationalist movement against British rule, and is widely considered the father of his country. His doctrine of nonviolent protest to achieve political and social progress has been hugely influential.

On January 30th 1948, he was assassinated in Delhi by a Hindu fanatic.

Gandhi and his followers, Gandhi and those who believed in him
Gandhi left us, through Acts and words,
the testimony of a life dedicated to the culture of peace,
That showing us through non-violence
Always preached love and harmony to the solidarity forgiveness, patience and joy -
The hero of simplicity, always true to the mode of dress, It Was people
teacher and guru. lover, father, friend and a dreamer, he preached love without fear
Equality Between peoples without prejudice, he left us the path to nonviolence
