One of the true heros for Peace in our time. I was in high school when he was arrested and jailed. Mandela gave up some of the best years of his life for what he believed in. His arrest and imprisonment back then had a major impact on me...it opened up my eyes to what was going on in the world around me. Thank you Nelson Mandela for all you have given this world and for peace!

The Nelson Mandela Children's Fund in association with 46664 run community projects to support and assistance to orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS. The origins of the Children's Hospital (CH) traces back to a concept paper drawn by NMCF CEO Sibongile Mkhabela. Consideration of the CH Concept Paper by NMCF founding chairman, Nelson Mandela and his wife, Ms Graca Machel led to their endorsement of the concept. Further consideration of the concept by the Board of Trustees of the Fund saw it adopting a resolution giving the proposed Children's Hospital Special Project Status on November 17, 2005 . Added support came from luminaries such as Bishop Tutu, Dr John Howe, President of Project Hope in the USA , Woman Business Pioneer Ms Wendy Luhabe, Dr Mamphela Ramphele, Professor Mohale Mahanyele, Bishop Joe Seoka, Archbishop of Buti Thlagale, Archbishop Ndanga Phaswane, and the National and Gauteng Health departments

Nobody was born hating another person by the color of their skin, by its origin or by their religion. To hate, people need to learn and can learn to hate, can be taught to love. "(Nelson Mandela)
