Our Mission

Voice for Peace, based in Bajaur Agency, Pakistan, promotes peace and the rule of law while seeking to extinguish violence, corruption, and terrorism. Voice for Peace promotes education and sustainable employment as tools that can deprive terrorists of new recruits, thus helping develop a more peaceful society. Originally founded with a vision of building schools to serve youth, mothers, and others in Pakistan’s neglected tribal areas, the advent of war has spurred Voice for Peace to expand its mission, cooperating with the United Nations, the Government of Pakistan, and other organizations to help meet the immediate needs of people displaced by systemic violence.
Voice for Peace seeks an end to violence in Bajaur Agency and the world, and is committed to promoting education, sustainable employment, and the rule of law without resorting to violence in any form. Voice for Peace affirms the innate and equal worth of every human being, and calls on every person and organization throughout the world to acknowledge this essential truth in word and action.

Oh! my dear friends, I have tears in my eyes when I am writing this post. Actually I have just reached Peshawar. I think I have spent some 16 days in Bajaur Agency with my wife and my children in Bajaur Agency, my hometown. When I was going to Bajaur Agency the situation was normal, but all of sudden the fighting has broken out in Swat and other parts of the country. All the roads leading to Bajaur Agency are closed. There are shortage of food and other basic necessities of life. The people mostly women and children are dying of hunger and other related problems. I have spent all the 19 days in weeping. My wife Fatima and my children are also disturbed. We have been seeing the death in front of us, but we can do nothing. I have reached Peshawar with great difficulties. I have used unconventional methods for reaching Peshawar. Now I am just sharing my pain with you.
I am really grateful to all of you for your kindness and love. Thank you very much my dear friend Les Derbyshire for your kindness. Thank you very much my dear friend luisella valeri for your kindness. A lot of thanks. I think it is your prayers that I am still alive and leading the life. I am really grateful to you for your kindness and love.
Actually I have seen a lot of death and destruction. Some 2 million people have been forced to leave their motherland. No one knows what is happening, but somethings are happening.
I think you are wonderful people. You have remembered me in your prayers and thoghts. Actually I have great concern for my wife and my children as they have still been living in the center of war on terrorism. At the moment I am helpless and can do nothing. I am just waiting for the death, but still I am trying to save myself and my family. I am struggling. I do not know fow how long I shall remain standing on my feet. The situation is very very serious for me and my family. There are great terror and fear. I have just arrived and writing this post. I shall be continue writing in details as I shall be staying in Peshawar for a few days. I am also trying to get a job somewhere in Peshawar so then I could be able to shift my family to Peshawar. Actually the situation in Peshawar is also not good. There is electricity problem
Salaam to all my friends.

I sincerely hope so too Susan. I know that when he goes to Bajaur it is not easy or even possible perhaps, to access the internet so maybe that is the reason. It's just that it's unlike Muhammad to be silent for this long.

Has anyone heard anything from or of Muhammad? His absence here is getting quite worrying. Keep praying people!

We really must. I think a lot about him and his family these days and hope we`ll soon hear from him-and I pray that nothing have happened to them.

I hope we hear from Muhammad soon. It's been a week now and that's not like him. We must hold him and his family in the light.

Muhammad,I hope you and your family are ok. It`s so hard to watch tv every day and see all the bad things from Pakistan-and it`s even worse now that I have friends there. I still pray for you and send hopes and good thoughts for you and your family.Love from me

I am also a member of the Care2 network Voice For Peace group. We are currently considering Muhammad's report on the renewed violence in the tribal areas and our possible response to it. It is possible that a part of this may take the form of representations to the Pakistan Government over the plight of the considerable numbers of displaced persons who are victims of the conflict currently raging in the area. Maybe this group could also consider that subject and maybe even agree a strategy or approach. Comments welcome!
