This group has many administrators who can and may need to act before consulting the other administrators. For transparency and many other practical reasons please record your administration-related concerns and actions here.

Please note that the most recent new entry will always be on the last page of this discussion. That is how the Ning discussion mechanism works.

Oh!! we have news... I'd like remove all inactive members and administrators.. too
we have only one ning way.... Ban, because they are not interested in our group,
we have clear rules in the front page, So, I think we can do it
I agree with you Vicky
I think that we all want to see the Admin privileges of any inactive moderators revoked.

I'd still prefer to NOT ban anyone as I had to deal with irate people who returned after a long absence. Whilst one can deal with those situations, the shock of being BANNED leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. Do we really need to subject them to that?

Notice that the membership list is ordered according to frequency of activity in the group. Those who are active float to the top. For now, I am that person. I'd prefer not be. :-)
We make and change the rules Vicky. :-)
Ken Rich's page includes a link which, when clicked, triggers my "Unsafe Website" alert utility and bars access to protect my computer.

We feel that the process of reporting spammers could be simplified to the advantage of both the Welcome Team and iPeace Admin. We propose that, since Admin look at new member profiles anyway, a more easily-distinguished form of our warning letter on the profile of a spammer should be sufficient to alert Admin. They can then consider whether to delete the member's account. Admin will no longer have to visit separately the spammer conversation which could be dispensed with. Any other messages for iPeace Admin could be posted in a new 'Messages for Admin' conversation.

To this end Sue has produced a new version of the message to spammers, distinguished by a red flag at the top. This can be found in the 'Message for spammers' conversation and is followed by the html needed to produce it. The code is also posted as a Word doc download.
I have another thought that perhaps when Admin have checked the page of the red flagged new member and found them to be "OK" perhaps they could post the official welcome message, or tell the welcome team that all is acceptable and one of the team could then post the official welcome, but obviously the team member who posted with warning would then have to remove it, unless that is something the Admin has the ability to do.
Yes, agreed Sue. What we could do with is some input from iPeace Admin on this.
