there has been a disturbing development on iPeace and I have just banned 19 members. Most of them had photos of children as their profile picture, and they were all in contact with eachother. None of them had any details on their Profile Information and none of them participated in any peace activity on this network. I cannot prove what type of human beings they are, but I fear the worst.

I believe their ring-leader was vegie50 who had a nude profile picture and claimed to be a naturist. However, he was friends with the other suspicious members and targeted others with pictures of children. He also uploaded photos of children.

I have reported all these people to Ning.

I am sorry that these type of people was found their way to ipeace but I am glad that you have made it clear for us how to deal with anything that we feel is "not right".

what about this profile, it says nothing but I don't feel comfortable with it for some reason. What do you suggest in a case like this.

I will keep an eye on him. The other profiles were more obvious ~ one had a boy standing in swimming trunks, and a couple had clothed children lying on beds looking at the camera. I am absolutely sick to the stomach about this situation and I am grateful for your help,

Its very sad to know. Quite scary too. I only hope they haven't harmed ipeace and its members in any way.

Thanks for the heads-up Gordon. I thought I was being reasonably vigilant but clearly not enough. Duly noted and acted upon. I have worked for some years with 'children at risk' and really should have been more alert. I guess I was just a bit off my guard here on a peace site.

Don't beat yourself up Les when we welcome the pages are often blank, pictures are added after. It's hard to know who is just posting a picture of their child, or someone who has posted child pictures for a different reason.

Some of these people may just honestly be naturists (nudists) whom some of us do not consider to be perverts and most such people are ethical and they harm no one. Nevertheless, we'd all agree that any aggressive promotion of that lifestyle in an environment like iPeace is just not appropriate.
